Sanofi Group Director Digital & Artificial Intelligence in Cambridge, Massachusetts

Our Purpose and Team:

The Global Device & Packaging Unit is a global business Unit in Sanofi M&S which develops and maintains Sanofi`s parenteral injection systems like Insulin Pens, Autoinjectors, Large Volume Devices, infusion systems and Pre-Filled Syringes. The Unit is a project-centric organization which is executing development and LCM projects of drug delivery devices for mAbs, vaccines, peptides, genomics etc. and supports device product maintenance post launch.

Product development as well as the related development of processes to ramp up production incl. their digitalization is what the GDUs contribution. Digitalization and the effective use of data in Development but also in Manufacturing is one of our main ambitions and target for Sanofis future.

We continue to recruit top talent in the industry to help transform the standard of care in the areas of drug delivery devices and particular to increase digitalization in development, increase speed at launches and to run effective productions.

KEY ACCOUNTIABLTIES:

The Director Digital & Artificial Intelligence is fully accountable for leading the digitalization and automation of development processes and procedure. We are targeting to fully digitalized our development and life cycle management activities and to create transparency and traceability to our knowledge. We strive to include intelligence in our processes to speed up processes and increase standardization and harmonization.

· ​ The Role of the Director Digital & Artificial Intelligence is responsible for enabling the GDPU digital and AI ambition. Driving the democratization of data, automation and AI, enabling the GDPU and Partners becoming digital leaders.

· The Role is accountable for the operational and policy alignment of the GDPU digital and AI strategy including its road mapping and implementation. The alignment and inclusion into Sanofi digital roadmaps must be ensured.

· The digital and AI policy is focusing on the one hand to increase speed to market, simplification and enhanced effectiveness in the GDU projects and operations. On the other hand, as a center of excellence supporting product development and life cycle requiring electronic and digital solutions/features.

· The role is accountable for ongoing process automation, digitalization and increasing activities and where possible use of artificial intelligence. Further to this, he/she must ensure compliance and grant audit readiness any time for relevant GDPU Software and Data solutions used.

· His / Her group is the integral point to manage GDPU`s digital development data (e.g. Reports, Drawings, documentation, raw data) and to integrate our specific software solutions (e.g. CAD, FEA, Requirements Eng, Risk Files)

· This is done in a permanent partnership with respective business representatives in Sanofi and with external partners.

BASIC QULIFICATIONS:

· Master’s degree (or PhD) in digital, digital administration or data science.

· Life Science or Engineering degree (e.g. electro-mechanical engineering, medical engineering, or physics) with strong affinity to digital and data management

· 10+ years working experience in software management, administration and continues improvement of user experience.

· 5+ years in the area of machine learning and artificial intelligence

· 5+ years leadership experience and expertise and experience in leading digital transformation programs and change management

· Proven experience implementing new way of digital working, supported by digital tools

· Qualified expertise in good documentation practice ideally drug device combination products.

· Proven expertise in set up, administration, computer system validation and maintenance of software solutions, ideally in GMP environments

· Proven experience in leadership, functional and disciplinary

· Working with international, cross-functional teams, and external partners and suppliers.

PREFERRED QULIFICATIONS:

· Work experience in the area of pharmaceutical industry and medical device development is an advantage.

LANGUAGES:

Fluent in English (other languages a plus - specifically French and/or German)
