DEVELOPMENT ASSOCIATE, Office of Digital Learning (OL), to actively manage and coordinate development projects across Open Learning. Will work with OL colleagues and staff and faculty from across the Institute with the goal of developing, overseeing, and maintaining work consistent with engaging philanthropic support; and assist in developing messaging and communications, building prospect lists, ongoing cultivation/stewardship, and other development activities. Responsibilities include helping develop and oversee projects consistent with engaging philanthropic support from priority donors, alumni, and friends; managing and reporting on prospect and donor data from the Advance database to help inform decisions; maintaining relevant infrastructure and systems, including creating contact reports and providing prospect research summaries; tracking, planning, and executing a variety of development and communication projects; and staying abreast of MIT activities and enterprises. Will report to the director of development, Open Learning.
REQUIRED: bachelor’s degree (advanced degree preferred); a minimum of two years’ work experience; familiarity with e-mail and electronic calendars; strong communication, writing, project management, and logistics skills; initiative and self-motivation; strong organizational skills; ability to meet deadlines and work under tight time constraints while managing multiple projects; ability to work independently and as a team member; tact and good judgment with confidential information; and experience with Apple computers and Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint software. At least one year of experience in higher education, development, and/or event planning strongly preferred. Job #16262-NThere will be limited travel and evening work as needed. 7/6/18
