DEVELOPMENT AND EVENTS ASSISTANT, Koch Institute for Integrative Cancer Research, to provide administrative support for the managing director of development and the manager, donor relations and stewardship. Responsibilities include assisting with the planning and management of events ranging from small and simple to large and complex; helping to prepare for donor and prospect meetings, including drafting briefings, acknowledgements, donor reports, correspondence, and contact reports; utilizing the MIT fund-raising database for inputting and tracking event participation, prospect tracking, stewardship and reports tracking, etc.; coordinating Mailchimp, Zoom, and other platforms to send mailings, host webinars and meetings, etc.; electronic and some paper filing of proposals, correspondence, event materials, etc.; making travel arrangements and handling expense reporting and reimbursements for full development team; answering telephones and greeting visitors; and performing other related duties and responsibilities as assigned. The position is ideal for someone who is interested in a career in fund-raising, stewardship, or related area.

Job Requirements

REQUIRED: a high school diploma or its equivalent; at least three years of nonprofit experience, preferably in a university or research/healthcare setting; ability to organize and manage multiple priorities and anticipate needs; excellent written and oral communication skills; discretion with highly confidential information; proficiency with Mac OS, Microsoft Office, PowerPoint, and Adobe Creative Suite; and willingness to learn new applications as necessary. PREFERRED: a bachelor’s degree and experience with Zoom, Advance, and/or Mailchimp. Job #19055-5 10/28/20
