A combination of education and 3 years event management experience will be considered. Additional Qualifications:BA/BS strongly preferred.Experience with large scale event organization, cost proposals and event budgetingKnowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, social media platforms, basic database skills required. Basic design software skills helpful, as are experience with communications and events promotion, including managing email campaigns.Strong oral and written communication skills, excellent planning and organization skills, and keen attention to detail.Motivated and resourceful self-starter, with the ability to anticipate needs, beat deadlines, and creatively and independently problem-solve.Adaptability and flexibility in an environment of constant change and competing priorities.Ability to interact with high-profile visitors with poise and self-confidence.Fluency in Spanish and/or Portuguese preferred.Please note that occasionally events will take place during evenings and weekends, especially during the academic semester. Additional Information:All formal offers will be made by FAS Human Resources.Please provide a cover letterDepartment:David Rockefeller Center for Latin American StudiesPre-Employment Screening:Identity Job Function:General Administration Duties & Responsibilities:The Events Coordinator will perform a wide range of duties in connection with DRCLAS programming for faculty, students, and other constituents, including the planning, organization, execution and follow-up for all Center events (lectures, seminars, workshops, conferences, receptions, etc.) in Cambridge. The Coordinator is a key member of the program management team and work closely with other departments and units within the University.An ideal candidate is someone who:Is excited about coordinating the relevant day-to-day operations necessary for a busy academic Center to produce over 150 events per year, from small, intimate discussions to large, high-profile public events. This includes events promotion, communication, coordination of venue and catering, basic budgetary planning, calendar management, AV and travel requests, and managing an Events Assistant and intern.Takes pride in providing excellent customer service, and ensuring an enriching and satisfying experience for all participants.
