  • 5+ years of related experience required; a combination of education and experience may be considered

Additional Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's of Library Science (MLS) degree preferred

  • 2+ years of experience in development and/or prospect research experience preferred

  • Prior experience using electronic databases and online search tools such as Lexis Nexis for Development Professionals, Foundation Directory, iWave, Knowledge Mosaic, etc., preferred

  • Experience with databases such as BSR Advance or Raiser’s Edge, and a background in corporate and foundation research preferred

  • Experience with Microsoft Office programs, including Word, Excel, Outlook, preferred

  • Familiarity with databases such as Ellucian Advance or Raiser’s Edge preferred

  • Experience in international research preferred

Excellent analytical skills preferred; Excellent written and verbal communication skills preferred; strong organizational and time management skills preferred; Experience developing and maintaining good working relationships with staff at all levels of the department preferred; Experience working independently and with sound judgment, to meet deadlines, manage multiple assignments and solve problems preferred; Experience handling sensitive and confidential information with tact and discretion preferred     Additional Information:The Harvard T.H. The Research Analyst and Coordinator performs accurate, in-depth and timely business, biographical, and financial research on current and potential individual, and to a lesser extent, corporate and foundation donors.

Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Analyzing and synthesizing information to prepare detailed profiles, capacity ratings, and other research products for development staff, deans, faculty, and other university affiliates that will facilitate and enhance fundraising success

  • Fulfilling monthly individual and team goals such as identifying and rating new prospects

  • Routinely screening news, periodicals, and lists

  • Helping to implement policies, procedures, standards, and processes relative to research operations and prospect tracking

  • Assisting with capturing and maintaining data on the development database

  • Other duties as assigned
