Our Developer Advocacy team reaches and represents a community of engineers who need to get the most out of our solutions. Working across the company with teams dedicated to supporting and enabling developers, we ensure our community is informed and has access to essential tools and documentation. As part of the technical marketing group, we lead engagement through our community channels, partners, and events.
Help grow our value to developers globally
AsÂ Community Manager, you will extend the reach of our team, finding opportunities to engage the community with our content, code, and innovation. As a voice of our community, you will help ensure we are meeting the needs of engineers and developers, building relationships with customers, those new to the Akamai platform, as well as partners & alliances.
As a Community Manager, you will be responsible for:
Understanding and representing the needs of our community to help our team manage the developer feedback loop across the company
Contributing to content, code, and channels where our existing and growing community looks for updates, best practices, and support
Creating videos and presentations that guide developers to getting the most out of Akamai products and solutions
Recognizing opportunities for thought leadership based on your familiarity with APIs, open source projects, libraries, and commonly used tool sets
Working with partner and influencer opportunities to grow a presence for Akamai community members to share their knowledge and experience with our technology
Do what you love
To be successful in this role you will:
Have 8 years of relevant experience and a Bachelorâs degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Management Information Systems, another related field or its equivalent
Demonstrate passion for engaging & supporting those who develop apps and rely on DevOps toolkits & workflows to optimize fast and secure deployment
Show a history of presenting and thought leadership at conferences, meetups, and other channels
Demonstrate examples of code and content youâve shared with the goals of inspiring and supporting other developers.
Have proven experience with community management and/or developer relations
Have background working as a software product or program manager, developer or engineer, or related role working with software teams
Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills and exceptional presentation skills

The range for this position starts at $130,707/yr. Akamai offers competitive compensation packages which are dependent on the position offered, in addition to a range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
