COMMUNICATIONS ADMINISTRATOR, Corporate Relations/Industrial Liaison Program (ILP), to perform a variety of communications duties. Will propose and develop story ideas for the ILP Insider; interview MIT faculty, startup, technology, and industry partner subjects; share session photos and approximate story release dates with subjects; finalize editorial calendar; compose ILP member collaboration profiles and circulate for approval; coordinate video production and edit video; proof, format, and headline written stories for website; format photos for website, CMS, and direct mail; update “News” section of the website and homepage carousel; follow up with subjects on their active media materials; update mailing lists; layout, edit, proof, and circulate weekly mailings; push updated news through social media channels; submit weekly news to MIT campus news; upload news videos to ILP iTunes U and YouTube channels; explore web, social media, and direct mail analytics; provide editorial consulting and support to the director of communications on all marketing materials; provide advice on using web and social media resources; evaluate requests for media access at events; support colleagues in collecting, editing, and formatting speaker abstracts and bios; provide editorial and proofing support for conference booklets; and provide day-of support and social media coverage for conferences.
REQUIRED: bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, or journalism; at least five years of communications experience; strong organizational and written and oral communication skills; experience working in team settings; and familiarity with HTML, CSS, Adobe Creative Suite, Final Cut Pro, and a variety of social media platforms and management systems. Some combination of editing, marketing, and print production experience is preferred. Experience in an academic or nonprofit environment would be a plus. Job #16598-O9/26/18
