Business Ops & Program Manager

The mission of the Global Influencer Community team within Microsoft’s Developer Relations organization is to recognize and engage exceptional technical community leaders around the globe who are always on the “bleeding edge” of technology, bringing together diverse platforms, products, and solutions to solve real world problems, and who have a passion for sharing their knowledge with the broader technology community.

The team islooking for ahighperforming Business Program Manager who can effectively partner with business stakeholders to deliver a highly valued and connected experience for community leaders, including Microsoft MVPs (Most Valuable Professionals) and RDs (Regional Directors). Theposition will provide a self-motivated individual a unique opportunity to build trusted partnerships across a range of Microsoft business groups, including Product Engineering, Product Marketing, and Customer Success, to engage and sustain healthy, vibrant technical communities. This includes active relationship management and programmatic engagement model that ensures a coherent business approach across business groups to enable deep technology focused interactions, foster our relationship with the broader technical community, as well as grow industry and community influence to adopt Microsoft platform and services.

This position is remote friendly within the United States.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

  • Build and nurture trusted partnerships across a range of Microsoft business groups to engage and sustain healthy, vibrant technical communities for Microsoft.

  • Evolve Product Engineering Group relationships to enableearly, often, and deep technical connections that empower community leaders to be thebest experts and ready to build, scale and amplify Microsoft products.

  • Define metrics for program success driven by internal engagement, monitor and evaluate business groups’ engagement performance and adjust strategy based on quarterly trends.

  • Improve operationalefficiency through tools and business process optimization and collaborate with various internal virtual teams to drive program innovation and transformation.

  • Manage escalations from both internal business stakeholders and external customers.

  • Define business tools requirementsandtranslate them into scenario specifications.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • 3+ years experience of building alliances and orchestrating interdisciplinary teams to the benefit of customers or communities.

  • 3+ years experience of businessanalysisskillsrequired to identifytrends and patterns.Abilityto analyze, interpret and communicate data to uncover opportunities for business development and improvement.

  • 5+ years' experience in project management, including planning, execution, estimation, risk management, and stakeholder management.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of professional experience in positions directly working with engineering and/or technical evangelism teams.

  • Bachelor’s degree in business related or technical discipline highly preferred. Equivalent business/technical experience may substitute.

  • Excellent communication skills with ability to influence business and technical decision makers.

  • Ability to navigate in an ambiguous environment. Agile in focus and communications – shift from strategic to tactical depending on the needs of the day and the audience.

  • Solid communication skills and fluent in presenting analytical results in an impactful manner.
