Position Overview
The bilingual marketing and communications coordinator works closely with the marketing and communications manager and other stakeholders to increase and bolster BARCC’s reach, engagement, and thought leadership. Drawing on their skills in online communication, this person will implement and evaluate communications strategies to further BARCC’s mission, with a special focus on increasing content for Spanish-speaking survivors and their loved ones. The coordinator will also build digital and print content in-house using graphic design, videography, writing, and photography.
Key Responsibilities
Social media management (planning, monitoring, etc.)
Research, plan, write, and share content across BARCC social media channels (currently Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Twitter, and WhatsApp).
Monitor and respond to social media engagement.
Create follow-up metric reports on a monthly basis.
Content production and implementation
Collaborate with multiple departments across BARCC to produce deliverables, including graphic design, photography, and video production.
Perform day-to-day administration (updating content, adding blog posts, creating forms, etc.) of the agency’s suite of websites, as needed.
Setting up, designing, testing, and scheduling mass e-mails.
Spanish-language communications
Translate a variety of public-facing materials into Spanish.
Review BARCC translations that are outsourced to cross-check for accuracy and alignment to BARCC’s voice.
Collaborate with other Spanish-speaking staff to refine BARCC Spanish language lexicon.
Administration, project planning, and more
Support and inform organizational communications efforts with data tracking and analysis for social media, BARCC’s websites (via Google analytics), Google Adwords Express, e-mail, and media coverage.
Collaborate with the marketing and communications manager on project planning and task management.
Provide input and feedback on other Communications team projects and deliverables.
Participate and take notes in a variety of monthly communications meetings.

Specific quantitative outputs required in FY22
Create and publish 4–10 social media posts per channel per week.
Attend 7–10 communications meetings (in some capacity) a month.
Oversee Spanish-language social media channel (WhatsApp)
Qualifications
Must be committed to BARCC’s mission and philosophy.
Minimum two years experience with communications/marketing and public relations/branding.
Excellent social media and management skills, including planning content and evaluating metrics for principal channels (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn).
Some nonprofit experience preferred, either in a former job capacity or volunteerism.
Written and spoken Spanish fluency required (native or near native capacity and focus on formal Spanish grammar. Bicultural experience preferred).
Some e-mail marketing experience with specific platforms, such as Mailchimp.
Some webinar setup experience, particularly with Google Hangouts and Zoom
High understanding of and skills in content creation programs for graphic design/video purposes, including Adobe Illustrator, InDesign, Premiere, as well as online collaborative platforms such as Canva and WeVideo.
Ability to collaborate with multiple departments and prioritize/juggle deadlines.

Essential Functions
Must be able to work on a computer and engage in stationary activity for the bulk of the workday.
