Sage Therapeutics Associate Director, Marketing Technology in Cambridge, Massachusetts
General Scope and Summary
SAGE Therapeutics is searching for a creative, resourceful, integrative thinker for an important Associate Director, Marketing Technology role that is responsible for partnering and collaborating with the Marketing department, focusing on proactive engagement and partnership to define marketing technology strategy and managing the overall business and technology relationship. The Associate Director, Marketing Technology will have a deep understanding of the lines of business and needs of the department and devise the technology strategy to ensure the department has the right technology and that it is well-aligned with the company.
Roles and Responsibilities
Develop a marketing technology roadmap to enable the organization’s digital strategy and manage implementation of technology in support of product commercializing across Sage.
Collaborate with Commercial stakeholders to design, deliver, and maintain technology solutions that align to Commercial’s business strategic direction.
Evaluate, select, and contract with external service partners to deliver Marketing Business solutions and services.
Develop deep understanding of underlying business processes and correlate to use of tools, data, and solutions involved.
Drive successful end-stage delivery efforts for technology initiatives supporting the Marketing team, including testing, training, deployment, data migration, cutover, user adoption, and continuous improvement.
Develop strong relationships with internal technology stakeholders and external vendors and stakeholders.
Act as product owner and evangelist for a variety of digital tools.
Bringing awareness of innovative digital technologies and solutions to Marketing stakeholders and incorporating them into the Marketing technology roadmap.
Drive change management, including implementation of new marketing technology rollouts.
Experience, Education and Specialized Knowledge and Skills
Must thrive working in a fast-paced, innovative environment while remaining flexible, proactive, resourceful, and efficient. Must have excellent interpersonal skills, the ability to develop important relationships with key stakeholders, good conflict management and negotiation skills, and the ability to analyze complex issues to develop relevant and realistic plans, programs, and recommendations. Must have a demonstrated ability to translate strategy into action, excellent analytical skills, and an ability to communicate complex issues in a simple way and to orchestrate plans to resolve issues and mitigate risks.
Bachelor’s degree in marketing, information technology, or a related field.
8+ years of progressive experience in marketing technology roles.
Lead marketing technology platform implementations with follow-on support.
Driving marketing technology transformation.
Experience using HCP, Patient and Payer data sets, and DTC program management.
Experience within the biotech/pharmaceutical industry.
Experience working with all levels of management, consulting with key business stakeholders, and ability to influence for greater outcomes.
Strong team player that has a customer service approach and is solution-oriented.
Attention to detail and the ability to work individually, within a multi-disciplinary team, as well as with external partners and vendors.
Possesses strong written and verbal communication skills.
