Sanofi Group Associate Director- CMC Collaboration Management in Cambridge, Massachusetts

The Associate Director of Collaboration Management within the Integrated Chemistry, Manufacturing & Control (iCMC), New Products Program (NPP) organization is primarily responsible for the broad oversight, planning, and strategy and relationship management of collaborative CMC activities. This individual serves as a liaison between internal and external teams, supporting alignment of activities at the operational level with the strategic direction and agreed upon commitments of the alliance partners. Proven success in managing collaborative relationships combined with a substantial scientific knowledge base is required. The incumbent will be an individual contributor and will function as a business partner to the associated teams, reporting to Head of CMC External Collaborations - US.

Essential Job Function Competencies:

The incumbent is a member of CMC team managing the R&D Strategic Alliances of Sanofi portfolio. He/she works closely with internal team and collaborates with the strategic partner to understand the CMC aspects of the projects, and develop a robust CMC strategy along with CMC team to support the future product submission, approval and launch in Sanofi territories.

Basic Qualifications:

  • MS or PhD degree in Sciences (Chemistry, Biology, etc) or Engineering,

  • Over 10-year broad pharmaceutical product development experience (CMC in biologics or synthetic molecules, regulatory, quality, device).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree in Biology/Biochemistry/Bioengineering, MBA is a plus, but not essential

  • Previous experience in collaboration management, business development, contract negotiations, customer relationship management or similar outward facing roles

  • Strong experience in project management, working under complex environment (e.g., transversal assignments across different sites), and with international and/or cross-cultural teams

  • Influencing and negotiation skills to build solutions and productive partnerships

  • Ability to synthesize and explain complex topics to non-experts and to the upper management

  • Ability to work autonomously and take initiative where warranted in order to exploit opportunities to improve business relationships forward with agility and precision.
