ASSOCIATE DIRECTOR, CLASS AND AFFINITY GIVING, Alumni Association, to manage volunteer-based fund-raising campaigns for one major undergraduate reunion class and the approaching class and one or more affinity fund-raising campaigns (athletics, student groups, etc.). Will leverage best volunteer management practices to recruit, train, and motivate volunteers and to guide the ongoing volunteer management strategy and provide leadership development opportunities for volunteers; guide volunteer leadership through the campaign goal-setting process and strategic execution of the fund-raising campaigns, with an emphasis on alumni participation at every level of giving and upgraded support in honor of special occasions like a major reunion; and work closely with colleagues across MIT to promote annual and capital giving opportunities and solicit volunteers for annual leadership gifts as appropriate.

This position offers an exciting opportunity to oversee record-breaking major reunion gift campaigns, work with high profile MIT donors and fund-raising volunteers, and help grow the affinity fund-raising program at MIT.

Job Requirements

REQUIRED: a bachelor’s degree; three years of relevant experience, preferably in a contemporary higher education fund-raising environment; experience managing volunteers; outstanding time management, communication, and organization skills; attention to detail; self-motivation; ability to work well both independently and cooperatively; proven success working as member of a team; tact, diplomacy, and sensitivity when dealing with highly confidential information; strong computer skills, including experience with Microsoft Office and familiarity with complex databases; and willingness to learn. The ideal candidate is customer-service oriented, results-driven, and possesses strong interpersonal skills. Job 15669-O
