Experience in and an understanding of mission-based organizations
Ability to work on multiple projects and complete high-quality work against strict and conflicting deadlines that are dictated by clients and management

Under direction of the Managing Creative Director, design and develop multimedia projects, executing design on video, digital and print process, and other tools
Conceptualize and create fresh and original design concepts and final assets for production within project scope to meet specific client needs
Work with a creative team to integrate design deliverables into Harvard Alumni Affairs & Development communications
Participate and collaborate in concept development and design ideation with members of the AA&D communications team serving the University Development Office, Faculty of Arts and Sciences, and the Harvard Alumni Association as well as university-wide partners
Edit video and media for presentations as needed
Contribute to efforts to make content social media-friendly
Collaborate with development team to create user-friendly designs for a variety of products
Design mockups and prototypes for microsites, email templates, and additional digital products as needed

Alumni Affairs and Development (AA&D) comprises the University Development Office (UDO), Faculty of Arts and Sciences (FAS) Development, AA&D Resources, and the Harvard Alumni Association (HAA). There is a unique relationship between the University and the FAS fundraising operations, resulting from a long history in which University fundraising ultimately grew out of College fundraising.

AA&D Resources encompasses teams that support all units across AA&D plus all schools and units across the University. AA&D Resources includes Technology and Support Services, Business Process and Operations, Alumni and Development Services (ADS), Administration and Finance, Events, Communications Creative Services, Research and Prospect Management, Human Resources, and the AA&D Talent Program.
DEPARTMENT SUMMARY:
The Creative and Communications Services team is a full-service, inhouse agency committed to providing top-tier, award-winning creative assets, and collaborative program management that works to advance the mission of the Harvard Alumni Affairs and Development (AA&D) department to our AA&D partners to meet their strategic, marketing, and communications needs. We endeavor to be trusted partners that deliver innovative and exceptional work, creative solutions, and outstanding experiences by continually measuring the engagement outcomes of our efforts.
POSITION SUMMARY:
The AA&D Creative Services team seeks a professional with a strong design background who is comfortable working in video, digital and print software to create stunning content across mediums. The Assistant Director, Design develops and produces creative concepts in conjunction with the managing creative director and design team. The Assistant Director will help in the development, improvement, and/or maintenance of video projects, multimedia presentations, and other efforts on behalf of AA&D priorities.
The ideal candidate has a strong desire to partner with a team of creative professionals and project managers on compelling projects.
