Department:MarketingPre-Employment Screening:Identity Schedule:Full time - 35hrs./weekJob Function:Arts Duties & Responsibilities:Under the leadership of Artistic Director Diane Paulus and Executive Producer Diane Borger, the American Repertory Theater aims to expand the boundaries of theater and engage thousands of theatergoers at more than 200 performances and events each season. The Marketing and Communications department is responsible for building the organizational brand and implementing sales strategies that result in more than $5M in annual earned revenues. Duties & Responsibilities:Reporting to the Director of Marketing and Communications, the Marketing and Communications Manager is an integral member of the marketing team responsible for managing and implementing marketing strategies and tactics. The Manager is a key stakeholder in creating an audience-focused culture across the institution. The individual in this position collaborates with all other departments within the organization, supporting the alignment and facilitation of a cohesive brand and customer service standard. This position supervises the Marketing and Communications Fellow and interns and collaborates closely with the Digital Graphics and Design Fellow, the Senior Graphic Designer, and the Public Relations Director as well as members of the Education and Engagement team. The successful candidate will undertake a broad range of responsibilities including overseeing the development and execution of marketing communications such as print collateral and direct mail, display materials, advertising, promotional videos, and email. This position manages the A.R.T. website development and maintenance, digital presence, and social media accounts, operating the A.R.T.’s Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram in conjunction with other team members. The Manager also acts as the primary contact for vendors during the bidding, negotiation, and fulfillment of projects and advertising buys and oversees the departmental budget, processing all invoices and accounts payable, tracking department expenses, and reconciling against the organizational budget. This position provides the team regular analysis of current strategies and campaigns for both social media, digital activity, and email campaigns; responds to and monitors patron feedback; oversees Google Adword campaigns; and researches and recommends new tools, technologies, and social media outlets. This position is responsible for database management as it relates to segmenting patron records for direct mail and email strategies as well as proposing and maintaining data standards across departments. This position participates fully in all marketing events, such as opening nights, press nights, receptions, and other special events and may represent the institution at community and industry wide events.
