InterSystems Application Writer in Cambridge, Massachusetts
Senior Writers are those who participate fully in TrakCare product and development teams. They know how to present complex healthcare administrative and clinical application material to the target audience in both printed and online format as well as generate help systems. They have sufficient knowledge and experience to be able to combine information from a variety of sources both inside and outside the project team.
The duties initially assigned include, but are not limited to:
Works on new TrakCare product documentation and collaborates in maintenance efforts, especially on complex topics that s/he may have been involved with in the past.
Contributes to high-level design of documentation sets as well as developing project schedules.
Interprets difficult unfamiliar material (in collaboration with product and development staff) from diffuse sources to produce coherent, structured, user documentation.
Works to improve documentation quality, process, productivity, and presentation.
Stays current with development projects through review of new design documents, and functional specifications as a reviewer of product release collateral and training material drafts in areas where the subject is familiar.
Other duties may be directed by the company from time to time.

Demonstrated effectiveness in using contemporary computer systems and software.
Superior interpersonal communication skills.
Extensive writing experience
Demonstrates strong problem-solving skills
Previous experience in writing about any of the following subjects is a strong plus:
Software used to develop business or medical workflow systems
Consolidated medical records and applications
Application development platforms for value-added resellers (VARs)
Distributed application architecture, including system administration, operation, high-availability features, backup and recovery
Network and/or health care messaging protocols
Previous work experience of the following types is also a strong plus:
As a developer producing applications
Writing tutorials or programming examples
As a technical editor, or with reviews by a technical editor
