  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint. Ability and interest in learning new software and databases.

Additional Qualifications and Skills:

  • Familiarity with databases, experience in design, and/or supporting web applications preferred.

  • Ability to prioritize competing demands in a dynamic environment and complete work on time with minimal oversight.

  • Works well independently and as a collaborative team member. Self-motivated, flexible, responsive, and reliable.

  • BA/BS degree from an accredited institution preferred.

  • Culturally aware and sensitive to diversity issues regarding the internal and external Harvard community.

  • Act as the frontline representative for alumni website administrators using web-based applications, including a member database, broadcast email, event registration, and e-commerce.

  • Monitor the Support Tracker ticket queue daily, providing technical support and solutions. Research and escalate issues to the Assistant Director, Data & Digital Applications, as needed.

  • Coordinate the onboarding and offboarding processes for a range digital platforms.

  • Participate and assist in education, training, and troubleshooting sessions with alumni.

  • Serve as a beta tester for new trainings, updates, and system patches.

  • Update and maintain a small collection of Club and SIG websites.

Data Management (35%)

  • Track and maintain information through a variety of Excel documents.

  • Utilize Excel for data manipulation, visualization, and analysis, often combining multiple data sources.

  • Conduct initial data research and analysis for the Assistant Director, Data and Digital Applications, and Associate Director, Data and Digital Strategy.

  • Prepare email segmentation lists and maintain directories across various platforms.

Programs & Projects (30%)

  • Act as the primary contact for two moderate-volume inboxes on behalf of the Clubs and SIGs team, providing initial triage and research, appropriate responses, and escalation.

  • Provide program and project support to the Assistant Director, Data and Digital Applications and Associate Director, Data and Digital Strategy; provide additional support for Clubs and SIGs programs as needed.

  • Draft communications to internal and external audiences.

  • Participate and support HAA and Club and SIG team events on campus.

  • Perform other duties as assigned. Occasional weekend and evening work is required.

Harvard Alumni Association seeks a tech-savvy Alumni Relations Assistant (ARA), Data and Digital Applications to join the dynamic, fun, innovative, and data-driven Clubs and Shared Interest Groups (SIGs) team. Reporting to the Assistant Director, Data and Digital Applications, this full-time, non-exempt position serves as the first point of contact for alumni utilizing the Clubs and SIGs technology platforms. The ARA delivers exemplary customer service and troubleshooting assistance for Club and SIG volunteer website administrators. The ARA works with a global audience, communicating professionally and effectively with individuals of varying familiarity with technology. The successful candidate will have strong attention to detail and time management skills. Additionally, the ARA will have an interest in web user experience, web design, and data analytics.
