  • BA/BS or equivalent experience, with 7+ years of program and management experience in executive education (or other consultative service-focused business) and managing on-going client relationships required.

Additional Qualifications:

  • Must be self-motivated and confident with sound judgment and highly effective diplomatic and communication skills. Ability to conduct, and be comfortable with, international travel (travel will include Europe and Asia and may expand in the future).

  • Demonstrate a strong interest in learning more about executive development, management learning, program delivery, and evaluation.

  • MBA or other advanced degree preferred. Knowledge of hybrid learning models and the application of new technologies are a plus.

The Associate Director in Custom Programs is responsible for making budget decisions regarding programs, engaging in contract negotiations with hotels and other vendors, and authorizing spending related to their portfolio of custom programs.

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Coordinates the delivery of customized executive education programs for existing corporate client and associations.

  • Responsible for management of the client relationship with HBS including: program planning and evaluation, and partnership with program teams for program delivery and evaluation.

  • Custom Programs scope is not geographically bounded, and the role requires program development and delivery activities to be conducted on campus and off, including globally.

  • Supports development of long-term, multifaceted relationships between custom clients and HBS and Harvard University (e.g., other parts of ExEd, HBX, Harvard Business Publishing, External Relations, and MBA Career Services)

  • Requires strong ability to manage multiple constituencies against the backdrop of changing priorities and complex projects.

  • Must have ability to establish and cultivate collaborative relationships with a diverse range of constituencies, including external communities

  • Other projects as required.
