Guidehouse has a unique position the sustainability. We are looking for a motivated, creative individual to partner with our leadership to drive and grow sustainability consulting

across the firm, with an additional focus on the rapidly growing ESG segment of issue management and disclosure.

Our Directors are the leaders and drivers of the firm. They architect solutions to meet client needs. They identify business development opportunities and drive them to completion. They oversee teams and client engagements from start to finish, providing intellectual direction, guidance, support, motivation, and quality assurance They are responsible for developing teams and individuals through coaching and feedback and always promote a culture of excellence.

They build trust with clients during the sales and delivery process through clear communication and demonstrated advanced technical knowledge. Participation in industry and networking events is expected. Often work is for extended times at our client site, which can be nearby, or abroad on occasion.

Job Description/Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with Guidehouse team members across public and private sector accounts to grow ESG Consulting brand and revenue – including Thought Leadership, offering development, new sales, account management, and finally project management.

  • Identify opportunities and architect consulting solutions for health care sector clients, including energy and climate strategy, decarbonization planning and implementation, reporting and disclosure, and ESG strategy, issue identifications and materiality, issue management, and disclosure

  • Utilize your track record and contacts in broad areas of Sustainability Consulting to help expand our market presence and close new projects

  • Develop client and pursuit strategies

  • Manage contracts and legal issues

  • Manage and mitigate project, account management, and other risks

  • Identify key client interests and drivers on projects and pursuits and communicate with team members

  • Lead proposal development and pursuit of business development opportunities

  • Develop strong relationships with clients, project teams, teaming partners and contractors

  • Leverage professional networking skills and a robust set of contacts across the industry to help identify and pursue project opportunities

  • Participate in internal Guidehouse initiatives aimed at improving the firm


  • Master’s/MBA or higher (or equivalent)

  • 10+ years plus of relevant experience in consulting and/or industry practice in the sustainability space

  • Intellectual agility, creativity, and flexibility

  • Expert knowledge of sustainability and climate strategy, management and disclosure

  • Additional experience in areas such as the resilience/sustainability nexus and perspectives on the forces of transformation driving change across the industry.

  • Demonstrated sales and delivery track record

  • Executive-level presentation, writing, and oral communication skills

  • Demonstrated success leading high performing teams

  • Fluency in English (working language)


  • Previous experience in consulting, especially at a large firm

  • PMP certification

  • PhD in relevant field (e.g., climate science)

  • Additional languages (e.g., Spanish and Portuguese)
