Participate in the development and execution of corporate events marketing programs.

Project manages diverse portfolio of corporate event types (seminars, executive roundtables, sponsorships) with specific teams mapped as event type specialists. Drives alignment of messaging and overall strategy; helps to ensure that the right event is delivered to the right audience at the right time. Drives creative thought process and continuous evaluation and refinement of Oracle's event marketing portfolio. Provides management with reports and analysis on program efficacy for future program selection and budget allocation.

Acknowledged authority within the Corporation. Acts as a leader of large-scale company initiatives. Viewed by peers as a leader and top contributor and by line management as a key business partner. 12 years relevant work experience. Software business management experience, and Marketing experience in the high-tech industry preferred. Proven ability to manage budget, approval processes, resource allocations in terms of both people and money. Professional credentials in Marketing. Academic credentials desired.

Job Description:

The Senior Director, Oracle OpenWorld North America is a member of Oracle s Corporate Marketing team who manages Oracle s flagship business and technology conference, Oracle OpenWorld in North America. This position will lead the process development and project management of all aspects of Oracle s largest and most strategic event, Oracle OpenWorld in San Francisco. This industry leading conference is Oracle s premiere event, with 60,000 global attendees, designed for Oracle s customers, prospective customers, partners, and influencers. The purpose of this event is to create brand awareness, develop and advance pipeline, and educate and inspire attendees.

Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

Overall conference strategy and program development, messaging, experiential and thematic design

Defining conference objectives, goals, audience targets, and program priorities accordingly

Delivering meaningful, memorable event experiences for Oracle's customers, prospects, and influencers

Directing the execution of all event operations, vendor relationship management, contract negotiation, budget management and reporting

Creating and managing project plans and timelines, ensuring the event is delivered on time and on budget

Collaborating, evangelizing and communicating across executive stakeholders, global product, sales and field marketing teams

Negotiating with and managing strategic agencies, vendors, and venues

Note: This is an individual contributor role, with the opportunity to eventually manage a team

Preferred Requirements include:

15 years of demonstrated success in large conference (20,000 attendees) project management and/or conference production

Hands-on experience with all aspects of event planning and execution including operations, promotion, content development, and sponsorships

San Francisco Bay Area candidate preferred

Travel (domestic and international) required (SF Bay Area candidates can expect< 25% travel, candidates living outside of the SF Bay Area may travel < 50%)
