Job Overview:

The Marketing Strategy Manager team is focused on developing broad, strategic vision for Keurig Dr Pepper’s core beverage categories and identifying/evaluating new growth initiatives within them. Working closely with the Director of Category Strategy, the marketing leadership team, and cross-functional commercial leaders, the Manager will lead the development of category growth platforms, define brand roles, and determine marketing investment levels for each existing core beverage category. She/he will drive problem-solving and opportunity evaluation, including strategic and financial analysis and the creation of business plans for high-potential opportunities. The role will be responsible for proactively monitoring changes in the external competitive environment together with progress against internal goals to determine when to adjust vs. stay the course and sharpen execution.

The ideal candidate will bring 2 or more years of management consulting experience from a leading strategy consulting firm or 5+ years in a Marketing, Strategy, or Finance function. They will provide broad, analytical, and strategic input into the KDP portfolio strategy. Blending strong internal capabilities with creative, external perspectives, the successful candidate will champion new initiatives that demonstrate breakthrough thinking.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work with the marketing leadership team to uncover and address strategic opportunities across core KDP beverage categories (Soda, Water, Juice, Tea, Brewed and Ready-to-Drink Coffee)

  • Partner with the Innovation team and Corporate Strategy team to evaluate KDP entrance into new and emerging categories and prioritize opportunities

  • Conduct research and analyses to shape category participation and brand investment strategies

  • Identify brand renovation opportunities across the core portfolio and prioritize opportunities based on value to KDP

  • Serve as an internal consultant, leading “special” strategic projects with cross-functional teams to drive swift action

  • Serve as a steward for the company’s total portfolio performance by building expertise in all of KDP’s brands and categories

  • Drive results, define outcomes, and ensure that the category strategies are executed successfully to achieve planned business outcomes

  • Identify business questions and develop strategic, analytical, and financial frameworks to conduct analysis

  • Structure and define innovative approaches to new strategic problems

  • Conduct analyses (e.g., financial, strategic, operational, organizational)

  • Conduct research and interviews with in-house and external sources

  • Synthesize complex problems into clear, actionable plans and ensure execution for success

  • Drive alignment among senior leaders

CORE COMPETENCIES

  • Experience with a leading strategy consulting firm or experience in consumer goods or retail products strongly preferred

  • Strong leadership skills, including strategic thinking, project leadership, collaboration, and influencing skills, as well as ability to manage ambiguity

  • Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to learn and adapt quickly

  • Good oral and written communication skills - the ability to communicate at senior leadership levels with ability to quickly gain credibility

  • Outstanding collaboration skills, with proven ability to work with multiple stakeholders across business lines to accomplish shared goals and manage expectations

Requirements

Requirments:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited US or international university in Marketing, Economics, Accounting, Business, Finance, or other highly analytical discipline (e.g., engineering)

  • 5 years of experience in Finance, Strategy, Marketing, OR 2 years if in a leading consulting firm

  • 2 years of experience applying "technical" skills in corporate strategy and business development, specifically with regards to financial modelling and analysis, strategic problem solving, and business plan development

  • Demonstrated advanced proficiency in MS Excel modeling skills (ex. working with large datasets)

  • Experience developing and delivering compelling MS PowerPoint presentations
