Job Overview

Direct the cloud department in the design, development, and implementation of IT solutions aligned with the organization's strategic objectives. Develop and implement department goals that leverage cloud infrastructure to meet business needs through the creation of new DevOps applications, optimization of existing systems architecture, and management and creation of network systems and applications infrastructure.

Job Description

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field.

  2. Nine (9) years of experience in IT that includes designing, implementing, and managing AWS cloud infrastructure solutions.

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. AWS Certified Solutions Architect.

Duties and Responsibilities: The duties and responsibilities listed below are intended to describe the general nature of work and are not intended to be an all-inclusive list. Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned.

  1. Oversee design, implementation, and delivery of high-level cloud architecture for the organization.

  2. Set goals and objectives for department.

  3. Manage, motivate, and evaluate a team of professionals and specialists with varying levels of expertise to accomplish department goals and objectives.

  4. Manage consultants, contractors, or other vendors related to the execution of project tasks.

  5. Create documentation for infrastructure or processes.

  6. Understand, implement, and automate security controls, governance processes, and compliance validation.

  7. Design, manage, and maintain DevOps tools or applications to automate operational processes or achieve business goals.

  8. Develop orchestration workflows, templates, or scripts to deploy, configure or update cloud services and related components including OS, utilities, agents, or other software used within the cloud infrastructure.

  9. Manage the building and release of cloud infrastructure for the organization.

  10. Oversee pre-production acceptance testing to ensure the high quality of a company’s services and products.

  11. Develop DevOps solutions for typical infrastructure management, this could include monitoring, backups, remediation tasks, infrastructure build, etc.

  12. Create reports from or perform data investigation into the environment.

Physical Requirements:

  1. Work environment: professional office environment with typical office requirements such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, etc.

  2. This is largely a sedentary role, which involves sitting most of the time, but may involve movements such as walking, standing, reaching, ascending / descending stairs and operating office equipment.

  3. Frequently required to speak, hear, communicate, and exchange information.

  4. Able to see and read computer displays, read fine print, and/or normal type size print and distinguish letters, numbers, and symbols.

  5. Occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.

  6. Travel may be required.

Skills & Abilities:

  1. Expert knowledge of at least one coding language.

  2. Able to manage complex projects and drive successful outcomes in a senior-level capacity.

  3. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.

  4. Ability to perform detailed cost/benefit analysis to support decision-making.

  5. Advanced knowledge of cloud computing principles, architecture patterns, and best practices.

  6. Working knowledge of the following: Citrix, Linux/Unix, Windows Servers, Networking, Firewalls, VPN, Active Directory.

  7. Excellent leadership skills.

  8. Excellent customer service skills.

Job Profile Summary

​This role focuses on the design, development, and implementation of information technology (IT) solutions in order to meet the organization's needs through new and existing applications, systems architecture, network systems and applications infrastructure and the management of the IT infrastructure. In addition, this role focuses on performing the following Information Architecture Design duties: Addresses problems of systems integration, compatibility, and multiple platforms. Includes design and prototyping, trouble shooting/problem solving/bandwidth/performance/system sustainability, devices both clinical as well as non-clinical. A management role that supervises employees focusing on tactical, operational activities within a specified area, with the majority of time spent overseeing area of responsibility, planning, prioritizing and/or directing the responsibilities of employees. Goal achievement is typically accomplished through performance of direct and/or indirect reports. A role that directs a department or small unit that includes multiple teams led by managers and/or team Leaders. Responsibilities typically include: ownership of short to mid-term (1-3 years) execution of functional strategy and the operational direction of the Department, problems faced are often complex and require extensive investigation and analysis, and requires ability to influence others to accept practices and approaches, and ability to communicate and influence executive leadership.
