W.B. Mason Company, Inc. Contracts Analyst in Brockton, Massachusetts

The Bid Analyst provides metrics and data to provide accurate and useful information to management for decision making with a primary focus on revenue generation and leverage profitability of customer performance. Work on New and Existing customers going to bid. Convert competitive data into company's part numbers, pricing to win deals in a competitive market.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Identify products to be offered and competitive pricing for strategic, national, local and vertical Market (healthcare, schools and government) bid opportunities

  • Provide analytical support by interpreting business and customer information on complex bids

  • Influence the implementation of pricing decisions and strategies with Sales Managers, Market VPs, Strategic Account Managers, and VP Strategic Account Managers

  • Prepare analysis to provide executive management with comprehensive information related to trends on margins in markets and/or the customer level

  • Enhance and maintain existing reports and analytical applications through modification and requirements gathering obtained from feedback from sales representative/managers on report changes

  • Analyze proposed pricing approach to ensure profitable and competitive results; stay abreast of competitive pricing

  • Work with the appropriate personnel in the field to determine product selection and pricing approach that will attract customers to select W.B. Mason as their preferred vendor

  • Develop necessary pricing models for larger bids or more complex opportunities; Models multiple "what if" hypothetical pricing approaches to bidding in order to optimize margin; apply usage figures (provided or calculated) to project overall anticipated margin; communicate changes in logic to management to improve model

  • Lead presentations with field sales organization, field account implementation management, and headquarters departments to implement new pricing specifications and arrangements in a timely and organized manner

  • Review successful and unsuccessful bids to determine future pricing alternatives; communicates these findings to sales, merchandising, marketing and bid department team in order to improve success rate Convert competitors product numbers and unit of measure (UOM) into product numbers/UOM in order to accurately price
