Brockton Hospital Communications Marketing Coordinator in Brockton, Massachusetts

Position Summary:

Manages all organizational communications development from creation and editing to appropriate placement taken into account the specific audience target. Responsible for media, public relations, website and internal communications projects in support of the Signature Healthcare system. Manages all sources to obtain and secure pertinent information on behalf of the organization; shares such information as appropriate to all levels of the organization. Develops all communications and content for various initiatives, i.e. OB newsletter, community newsletter, patient portal messaging, website content, media alerts, etc.

This is a full-time 40 hour/ week position

Responsibilities:

  • Ability to develop communications content independently for various audiences in the healthcare arena.

  • Ability to self-direct content and articulate responses to media and public relations opportunities. Demonstrated ability to be communicative both verbally and in writing.

  • Exceptional and independent organizational, time management and problem solving skills required.

  • Excellent research, writing, editing, proofreading and communication skills for internal and external communications with demonstrated ability to meet deadlines required. Writing skills must include ability to develop and write to specific audiences independently.

  • Ability to meet requirements of scheduling with short timeframes multiple priorities and strict deadlines within a fast-paced environment.

  • Ability to manage, coordinate, and support the Marketing & Communications team to accomplish a broad range of projects for the members and departments of the organization and organization’s affiliates.

  • Demonstrated ability to utilize Lean tools and resources for not only the management of the position but also for the Department.

  • Ability to independently manage community and internal newsletters, content and budget with the support of management team.

  • Ability to identify areas for strategy growth and develop master plans to support plan.

    BASIC KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/APTITUDE/EXPERIENCE:

  • Demonstrate ability to independently prioritize and work on multiple tasks at one time, seeing projects through from start to finish within the specified deadline and budget is required.

  • Must demonstrate excellent organizational and problem solving skills. This skill is mandatory. Demonstrates interpersonal skills and work effectively with all levels of the organization from Senior Team to clinical personnel.

  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with variables within established policies and guidelines.

  • Demonstrate ability to interpret instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form, seeking clarification when necessary.

  • Must be able to use appropriate judgment in communications and actions with patients, physicians, other associates, outside agencies, and vendors.

    Education/Experience/Licenses/Technical/Other:

  • Education: BA/BS in Communications, Marketing, English, Journalism, or related field required.

  • Experience Three to five years of relevant field required. Healthcare setting preferred.

  • Certification/Licensure: N/A

  • Software/Hardware: All Microsoft products, web publishing and social media required. InDesign, Publishing software and Photoshop required

  • Other: Must have the ability to work nights and weekends on occasion. Remote work is negotiable.

  • Must have the ability to lift up to 25 lbs carrying support materials for external office events. Must have transportation to drive offsite to other SHC buildings in area towns to local events & meetings.
