Clinical Social Worker Roles and Responsibilities:
Under the Director of Social Work, this clinician will provide assessment, advocacy and discharge planning for the psycho-social needs of patients of all ages. This individual will need to demonstrate expertise in crisis intervention, mandated reporting, care coordination of patients with psychosocial risk e.g. domestic violence, protective services, frail elderly, disabled, substance abuse, homelessness, hospice care and end-of-life issues.
This individual must be able to work with patients with high-risk pregnancies, patients who struggle with addiction and mental illness. In addition to working on an inpatient medical/surgical unit, this individual will serve as the primary social worker for the Maternal/Newborn Units.
T his position is responsible for education and advocacy of patients, families and/or significant others.
Works with physicians, health team members, and community agencies.
Knowledge of area community resources is required.
This individual must possess a master's degree in social work and be licensed, or licensed eligible, as a LCSW in the state of Massachusetts.
Must demonstrate an ability to prioritize multiple tasks, manage high patient volume and possess strong interpersonal skills that foster positive relationships.
Must have excellent communication skills and display a professional demeanor with patients, families, interdisciplinary team members, and outside agencies.
2-5 years of acute hospital experience preferred.
Position is full time with weekday coverage 8 – 4:30 pm and some weekend/holiday coverage.

Required
Master’s Degree in Social Work
Licensed or License eligible, as a LCSW in the state of MA
Preferred
