2 Life Communities Director of Communications in Brighton, Massachusetts
The Director of Communications will oversee the development, execution, and coordination of 2Life Communities? communications activities across a range of audiences, messaging needs, and channels. Working closely with the Chief Marketing Officer and the Director of Brand Communications, this position will oversee the execution of the organization?s communications strategy, ensuring consistency in the organization?s voice and brand integrity throughout all efforts. This position supervises those directly tasked with executing the organization?s day-to-day marketing and communications functions. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS* ? Develop and execute a comprehensive communications strategy for 2Life Communities. ? Oversee and contribute to the development of messaging, materials, and tactics for a range of audiences, including but not limited to: prospective and current residents, community partners, donors, policymakers, media, volunteers, and staff. ? Serve as the organization?s editor-in-chief, ensuring 2Life?s content standards are met across a range of audiences, messaging, and tactics. ? Oversee a small but growing team in the execution of 2Life?s day-to-day communications activities. ? Work collaboratively and cross-functionally with all areas of the organization to strategize, design, assign, and implement key communications priorities. ? Work collaboratively to create, maintain, and internally promote organization-wide communications processes, guidelines, and systems. ? Articulate the mission, vision, and impact to external stakeholders, including donors, volunteers, families, government and community agencies, and others. ? Support senior leadership in building 2Life?s externally facing thought leadership around aging in community and affordable housing. ? Analyze the effectiveness of 2Life?s marketing and communications efforts. Own key performance indicators for all communications activities. ? Maintain best practices in working with external consultants and partners in the areas of research, digital marketing, content production, and public relations. ? Determine and direct the proper balance of internal and external resources to produce optimum quality, cost-effectiveness and results in the development of marketing materials. ? Direct the evolution of the brand and brand guidelines to maintain relevance and effectiveness and to ensure consistent messaging across all forms of communications. PREPARATION, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES ? Seasoned leader with 8+ years of experience leading strategic communications for complex organizations ? Exceptional writing, editing, and project management skills ? Demonstrated success and commitment to personnel management and professional development of direct reports ? Expertise in storytelling, messaging, communications strategy, traditional, digital, and social marketing, print and digital production, and emerging marketing trends across a range of audiences. ? Ability to lead and collaborate across departments ? Demonstrated leadership ability, team management, and interpersonal skills. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY ?
