The Program Director functions as the responsible party for the overall clinical and administrative practices of the psychiatric rehabilitation unit. Plans, organizes, staffs, directors and controls the services provided on the unit so that services are delivered in an efficient, expeditious, courteous and professional manner. Responsible for ensuring that all policies, procedures, standards and applicable regularly agencies and state and federal requirements are consistently implemented on the unit. Assumes 24 hour on call responsibility for notification of and resource for all administrative and clinical issues.


  • interact with resident and staff in courteous manner

  • communicate with Medical staff regarding resident s as needed

  • On Call and irregular hours are occasionally part of the duties

  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings for care planning purposes

  • Coordinating resident outings for both life enrichment and Occupational therapy purposes

  • Ensure compliance with State and Federal regulations for Annual Survey.

  • Communication with other team members to ensure all resident concerns are addressed

  • Participation in Psych round with MD/NP

  • Assist in investigations with residents, families and/or staff

  • Complete the activities portions of the MDS

  • Ability to work independently

  • Assist with monthly/quarterly reports on residents

  • Assist with audits


  • Bachelors Degree in Psychology, Social Work, or OT required

  • At least 3-5 Years of experience working with Mentally Ill, and /or behavioral residents

  • 1 year of supervisory experience preferred

  • Computer skills are highly valuable, but actual knowledge of our EMR will be taught during the orientation process
