IBM West Coast Partnership Alliance Manager in Boston, Massachusetts
Position is a sales overlay to help drive revenue to the IBM sales organization by leveraging the Cisco sales counterparts. This position will enable the IBM and Cisco partnership to help drive incremental revenue for both companies and having strong relationships with both sales teams is essential. Position is a regional based position and traveling is required to both Cisco and IBM events / meetings. Relationship selling is key because both sales organizations will need to trust one another and that trust begins with the Synergy sales manager. Person will be compensated on both salary and the ability to drive incremental revenue by virtue of the Cisco alliance.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise
- Relationship selling is key. Having a proven, successful sales background is required. Self starter and motivator. Being able to schedule meetings and motivate people that do not report to you is essential. Understanding of security. Channel sales background is not required but having this skill is a key factor in being successful. Cisco at its core is a channel to IBM. Having the understanding and knowledge of channel sales will be a major plus.
Preferred Tech and Prof Experience
- Channel sales background is highly preferred. Selling direct is much different and requires a different skill set than working with a channel partner. Most direct sellers have a tough time gravitating to a channel role. Knowing how to sell services is also preferred. Again, selling software is a different skill set than selling services. Service sales are much more consultative in nature versus something tangible like software. Knowing the Cisco sales organization would be preferred.
