Position Description

What does a great Vice President, Product Management do?

As the VP, Product Management, you will ensure that Fiserv delivers competitive software solutions to financial institutions, maximizes resources, and contributes in a predictable manner to the business results and strategic plan of the organization. You will be responsible for all lifecycle management and product P&L for the Commercial solutions. This includes the coordination of market research, evaluation of technology trends, and translation of product strategy into a roadmap. You are a key leader that will build a team that assists with client issues and acts as a liaison with Development and Account Management on the resolution of technical issues impacting clients. In addition, you will execute against key business success metrics, including financial targets, client experience metrics, etc.

As a Vice President, Product Management you will:

  • Develops strategic vision and tactical product roadmaps

  • Lead a cross division team to deliver against a financial plan executing on the defined Commercial strategy – including our incremental investment of $8M.

  • Builds product and business requirements based on market analysis, business strategy and client needs in the aligned marketplace.

  • Sees opportunities; develops business plans, marketing strategy, pricing strategy, financial and transaction-based forecasts

  • Participate in sales activities for the Large Bank market and be a key part in building a sales strategy along with our sales team for the market

  • Works closely with Design, Product Delivery and Development to ensure requirements are interpreted correctly in detailed design specifications and in the construction of the product assigned. Consults with Product Marketing to develop launch plans, define marketing requirements and ensure key product collateral exists; i.e.: product guides, sales presentations, demo scripts, flash demos, feature comparisons, etc.

  • Leads go to market activities

  • Be a key leader of furthering Fiserv’s Commercial discipline by hiring talent, influencing organizational structure, and expanding the overall knowledge across the enterprise

  • Validates and prioritizes requirements including defining benefits and impacts of releases across the organization and for clients and sets and achieves subscriber, transactions, quality, revenue and profitability goals.

Lead partnerships with key organizational stakeholders, including executive leadership, sales, marketing, operations, finance, legal, etc. to ensure portfolio and business success.

Basic Qualifications for Consideration :

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field preferred or equivalent work experience

Job-Related Experience:

  • 10+ years of experience in Product Management with most of the experience in leadership roles

  • 10+ years of experience in Commercial Loan Servicing area of banking

  • Shown success in effectively managing products through key stages of the lifecycle

  • Strong working knowledge of business financial practices, accounting and business case development, and ability to run a P&L

  • Experience in creating release roadmaps that support product strategies

  • Proven ability to understand complex business and technical concepts and make balanced judgments when faced with trade-offs.

  • An ability to complete tactical activities.

  • Strong analytical skills and ability to build consensus.

  • Endeavor to engage at the client level. Strong communication and presentation abilities to interact at all levels of the clients from C-level to technical and operation levels.

  • Solid thought leadership and ability to influence others through collaborative efforts.

  • An ability to quickly establish credibility and rapport with a broad set of constituencies.

  • Strong results orientation with demonstrated track record of success.

  • A high degree of adaptability/flexibility.

  • The ability to excel in dynamic, fast-paced environment.

Preferred Skills, Experience, and Education:

  • Pragmatic Marketing certification strongly preferred.

  • Possess an entrepreneurial attitude

Travel required : Domestic travel as needed, up to 20% of the time
