The Communications Vice President has overall responsibility for international product communications strategies. The goal is to support the company’s high growth expectations, as the company expands deeper and more broadly into global markets. The Communications VP leads a team that will collaborate closely with other functions, including Product Management, Medical and Scientific Affairs and Corporate Communications in the CEO Office to ensure consistent development and implementation of brand vision, key messaging and public relations across multiple channels.
The role is based in Boston USA and reports into the Chief Business Officer.
Oversees and shapes the strategic communication planning for SOPHiA with the goal of enhancing business value.
In line with SOPHiA’s business goals set and implement effective communications strategies that will engage target audiences and spread the message about the company and products
Provides leadership and vision to the Product Communications department that is line with the Corporate brand and identity
Accountable for external products communications strategy including but not limited to press releases, company website and content, infographics, social media, webinars, workshops and congresses and events
Ensures consistency across all communication channels
Plans and promotes design and production of all marketing and advertising materials
Drives and builds high performance culture through effective employee engagement and communication. Sets effective internal communications strategy and agenda to improve company-wide alignment and productivity across a global organization dispersed across head offices and remote home offices, appreciating cultural diversity and time zones
Uses research-based approach to develop communication strategies, key messages that resonate with different target audiences
Builds and maintains relationships with key media relations stakeholders including journalists, bloggers, KOLs with regards to product communications,
Collaborates and coordinates with key functions including Product Management, Medical and Scientific Affairs, Commercial, Corporate Communications and CEO Office.
Creates a team-building work environment, motivating individuals to be part of a productive, collaborative, creative and trusting environment.
Accountable for ensuring all promotion is compliant in accordance with local laws and regulations and that the communications department is adhering to the Standard Operating Procedures.
Accountable and manages department budget.
Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communications, Public Relations or related field, or equivalent combination of education and work-related experience.
Excellent written and verbal English skills with experience presenting in front of external audiences or executives
Health care industry experience or through working at a health care PR company.
Has deep understanding of the communications profession and how to deploy it to create organizational and business value.
Expertise in internal and external communications in a broad range of global and local communications environments.
International public and media relations experience in health care preferred.
Proficient with social media and monitoring effectiveness
Proven track record of success in the communications sector
Over 10 years global public affairs (strategy and implementation) experience with direct responsibility for media relations.
Experience overseeing communications agencies
Works well under pressure to meet deadlines
