Delaware North Video Content Administrator, Boston Bruins in Boston, Massachusetts

The Opportunity

The Boston Bruins are searching for a Video Content Administrator to join the team in Boston, Massachusetts. In this role, you'll be responsible for day-to-day coverage of the Bruins during practices, gamedays, and community appearances, through written, video, photo, and audio content for use on BostonBruins.com, TV broadcast efforts, and social/editorial content efforts. This role will focus primarily on video but will also be accountable to other areas of content efforts across the communications and content group. Alongside the Video Production Manager, the Video Content Administrator will work closely with other departments to support a variety initiatives spearheaded by corporate partnerships, community relations, Boston Bruins Foundation, sales, marketing, the office of the CEO, and other internal and external groups as assigned.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the day-to-day reporting of the team by helping produce, edit and publish unique written, video, photo and audio content for the Boston Bruins to distribute through their various digital media channels (BostonBruins.com, BostonBruinsTV.com, Boston Bruins App, Twitter, Facebook, Tik Tok, Instagram, etc.); collaborate with Video Production Manager and Director of Communications for the team’s two television shows and on sponsored content deliverables.

  • Film, edit and publish a broad spectrum video content supporting various team initiatives.

  • Under the guidance of the Video Production Manager and Director of Communications and content, identify new areas for content growth and develop new and unique ways to deliver content through current channels and emerging channels. Collaborate with Bruins Communications staff to ensure accurate delivery of team messaging. Work with various departments within the Bruins organization to gather event and schedule information to create and pitch story ideas. Work with Community Relations and Hockey Administration & Operations to fulfill Bruins player appearance requests.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, public relations, journalism, or a related degree required.

  • 1-3 years experience in journalism (print/web/broadcast) and reporting through written, audio and video content for a professional sports team or recognized news or content heavy outlet.

  • Must be familiar filming with professional HD video cameras, including (but not limited to) Sony, DSLR and Sony HD professional camcorders

  • Pre- and post-production experience, including lighting and audio set-up and operation, along with ability to create graphic elements.

  • Knowledge of social media channels, including Twitter, Facebook, TikTok, and Instagram, and the ability to use them effectively and strategically.

  • Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite including, Premiere Pro, After Effects, Photoshop and Media Encoder and others as assigned.

  • Creative eye and ability to ideate and execute content from A-Z.

  • Strong knowledge of hockey.

  • Content Management System knowledge that involves publishing and editing website content.

  • Ability to learn new video editing software, techniques and technologies quickly.

  • Knowledge of current industry and technological trends and how they can potentially improve quality/productivity.

  • Understanding of creative, unique content to drive engagement through digital/social media.

  • Remain flexible, especially in high-pressured situations.

  • Ability to work well within a team environment.

  • Ability to work nights, holidays and weekends dictated by the team’s schedule.
