The Vice President, Retail oversees the development, management, and optimization of priority channels to achieve base business growth, EBIT, new sales, and retention objectives. Responsibilities include strategy, development, launch, measurement, and continuous improvement of business unit and enterprise developed programs to drive revenue, profit, satisfaction, consumer loyalty, and retention, and differentiate Aramark from the competition and self-operation.


The Vice President, Retail is responsible for achieving revenue and EBIT growth targets within core Aramark Correctional Services channels. This position oversees strategy, innovation, program development, execution, ongoing management, and continuous improvement within these channels:

  • Supply Chain Management

  • Product Mix

  • Pricing

  • Distribution/Logistics/Warehousing

  • Alternative Sourcing Techniques

  • Inventory Management

The position provides leadership to develop, operate and optimize channel footprints, programs, promotions, merchandising, product quality, and analytics/measurement tools. The position requires collaboration with senior leadership and cross-functional teams at both the business unit and enterprise levels including Operations, OpX, Supply Chain, Growth, Culinary, Marketing, Finance, & IT.


Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Strategy/Planning: Direct with the team, the preparation and implementation of an annual Channel Growth Plan including: channel trends and growth opportunity identification, base business growth objectives and strategies, price/rate objectives and strategies, innovation/new program development plans, optimization plans, key issues, budget and timing. Provide channel perspective and analysis for the Corrections strategic plan, annual operating plan, quarterly operating reviews, and other strategic efforts

  • Insights: Utilize primary and secondary consumer, client, and channel insights to inform all program development. Recommend research for key channel initiatives and collaborate with business Insights Team on market research and Analytics Team to evaluate program results.

  • P&L Responsibility : Work with Field Operations team to achieve the annual base business growth number for Corrections. Manage product mix to increase profitability. Operate and optimize the existing retail channel footprint. Develop new channels of revenue, including Bulk Distribution. Manage the annual catalog of items, price and rate increases for this revenue line.

  • Innovation/Program Execution: Oversee program strategy, development, management, optimization, continuous improvement, and measurement in the following areas:

  • Channels, to include Bulk Distribution, Centralized Warehousing, Supply Chain, On-Site (client)/Off-Site Warehousing

  • Manage proprietary brand development.

  • Program Implementation, and Budget Management: Devise training and implementation support tools/systems for channel growth initiatives to ensure consistent execution. Lead the development of the annual Channel Growth budget, oversee the projection process, and ensure that programs are delivered on time and within budget. Overall responsibility for clarity, consistency, and strategic integrity of all programs.

  • Program Tracking/Analysis/Reporting: Work with Finance and IT departments to improve tracking, analysis and reporting of channel program performance. Help field teams improve the ability to track and analyze the business. Ensure measurement tools are in place, oversee program implementation audits, conduct field visits to observe program execution, and capture feedback to improve performance.

  • Team Leadership: Responsible for managing direct reports, and a support team. Work closely with key functions - within the business unit and enterprise - to support priority initiative development and successful execution.

COMPENSATION: The salary rate for this position ranges from $130,000 to $160,000, depending on circumstances including an applicant's skills and qualifications, certain degrees and certifications, prior job experience, market data, and other relevant factors. Additional compensation may include a bonus or commission. This is Aramark's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of compensation for this position as of the time of posting.


  • A minimum of 10 years General, Brand, and Large-Scale Distribution Operation experience.

  • Track record successfully scaling innovation (new products, programs, and services) on time and within budget in a complex organization.

  • P&L responsibility.

  • Demonstrated strategic planning, insights management, and utilizing consumer purchasing data.

  • Effective leadership skills - people management and staff development experience.

  • Strong, dynamic, and effective presentation skills.

  • Extensive experience with product procurement.

  • Experience creating programs leveraging analytics, to support strategy.
