Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy US Offshore Sales Project Manager in Boston, Massachusetts

As US Sales Project Manager in our Business Unit Offshore you will have overall responsibility for managing the sales project team during the sales phase.More specifically the position will have overall responsibility for developing a solution package in response to customer tenders and contract negotiations, including internal coordination and by ensuring an optimized overall solution based on individual work packages. You will be instrumental in motivating the sales team and creating an environment for success in a fast paced and very professional environment.Reports to Regional Manager of Sales Project Management

Responsibilities

  • Overall responsibility for the US sales project during the sales phase

  • Overall responsibility for timely, competitive and compliant submission of tenders to customers

  • Overall responsibility for negotiation and conclusion of customer contracts

  • Responsibility for project planning, reporting and follow up

  • Responsibility for adherence to Siemens Gamesa’s sales processes including management approval

  • Motivating, supporting and developing a high performing sales project team

  • Setting clear targets for team members, tracking progress and ensuring timely delivery

  • Facilitating interdisciplinary cooperation

  • Understanding US customer requirements and developing bid/negotiation strategies, ensuring that customer requirements are reflected in both costing and planning

  • Ensuring risks are fully assessed and approved by management

  • Ensuring successful handover to Project Management upon contract signature

    Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience

  • Extensive experience from international large-scale Project Management and/or Project Sales, preferably from the energy or entrepreneurial sector.

  • Previous experience of, and responsibility for, complex (Sales) Project Management in multicultural teams and with highly professional customers.

  • Fluent English, both written and spoken

  • People management skills and ability to motive and engage team members/colleagues

  • Personal organization and effectiveness

  • Project Management skills

  • Technical acumen

  • Negotiation skills

  • Understanding of contractual terms & conditions

  • E xperience from multi-contracting in large projects and an appreciation of how contracts are structured and interrelated .

  • Risk handling and risk mitigation competencies

  • U nderstanding of wind projects and Siemens Gamesa ’s offshore product portfolio is preferable but not a necessity

  • Understanding of financial statements and project economics in wind project s is desired  

  • Approximately 25% travel required.

  • BS Degree in Engineering, Business Administration or other technical field, advanced degree preferred

  • 10 plus years relevant wind industry experience
