PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVES

The SAP Upscale Commerce team is committed to deliver best-in-class and leading edge SaaS based commerce platform (products, apps, and microservices) designed to meet Retailers needs. We provide appealing commerce products combining software, configuration, and configurations with a rich user experience, integrating retailer emerging trends such as iOT and mobile applications for commerce experiences consumers and retailers.

The team is working in a lean Scrum-based agile mode designing, implementing, and releasing products as part of our SAP Upscale Commerce offerings. We are looking for an experienced User Assistance Developer with excellent business and technical writing skills and an aptitude for translating microservices and commerce platform tools into a format that is inspiring and useful to customers. As part of the CX team, you will help reinvent technical documentation. We want someone who isn’t afraid to try new formats/approaches in order to help our customers find new and creative ways to use our platform.

Expectations

  • Able to learn and understand the Upscale microservices well enough to be able to describe/demonstrate how you would use them in headed/headless customer use cases.

  • Need to be a self-starter when working on deliverables.

  • Uses appropriate style and tone for the product and the audience according to the target group and market.

  • Create clear, concise, complete, and correct documentation for the microservices.

Key Areas of Responsibility and Tasks

  • With UA team, set standards for swagger documentation and work with your development teams to ensure these standards are being met.

  • Be able to own and contribute to API cookbook documentation and ideation.

  • Work with UX to ensure UI texts are clear and translatable, and support the tasks of the user. Acts as an advocate for an excellent user experience.

  • Identifies information needs of, among others, users for UA deliverables and other content by researching, and is aware of and responsive to what users are discussing (onboarding team, customers, internal developers, external developers).

  • Collaborates and communicates, as applicable, with internal stakeholders, such as subject-matter experts (SMEs), user experience (UX), development, validation, and product support.

  • Ability to create/edit documents using DITA, Confluence Wiki, Stash, and Swagger Editor.

  • Work with other writers to peer review each other’s documents to ensure style guide and completeness is met.

Experience & Language Requirements

  • Professional experience in information development preferred.

  • Ideally first-language proficiency in English, or excellent written and spoken skills in English, preferably with excellent written and spoken skills in one or more local languages.

  • DITA experience a plus but not required.

Education

  • University degree (for example, in technical communication or a related subject, such as languages, translation, or media and communication studies).
