VMware Technical Product Line Manager - Opportunity for Working Remotely in Boston, Massachusetts

Come join our team of experts and help us create a world safe from cyber attacks! VMware’s Security Business Unit (SBU) leverages big data and analytics to drive highly effective security products. We are looking for an experienced technical product management professional with specialization in the endpoint/workload security industry that will help move this vision forward.

As a Technical Product Line Manager in the SBU you will partner with your product management peers on strategy and execution on the core security value proposition of our endpoint and workload load products. Working closely with both our Threat Analysis Unit and core engineering teams to ensure that our products maintain market leadership in an ever evolving threat landscape.


  • Serve as Technical Experts for the Product Management team to ensure we are solving real-world customer problems and prioritizing the right work.

  • Function as "the technical product expert" with customers for the Carbon Black Cloud product line.

  • Work closely with the engineering team providing input on and formal review of product functional specifications prior to development, provide feedback on early engineer releases and feature implementations.

  • Facilitate customer technical advisory boards

  • Collaborate with the Product Marketing Team on demo materials and training ahead of new product releases

  • Partner with customer account teams to enable product betas

  • Communicate roadmap updates and requirements to technical peers in the Security Business

Professional Qualifications

  • Significant technical and implementation knowledge of Carbon Black or directly competing products.

  • At least 4+ years experience in technical product marketing, professional services, systems engineering, or experience working in a customer environment as an architect

  • Demonstrate experience in working across workloads, workspaces, and endpoints to build end to end solutions, ability to build collateral

  • Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal

  • Proven track record of developing and delivering formal and informal training material and technical presentations aimed at educating customers, partners, or sales teams

  • Education: Minimum of undergraduate degree in engineering, computer science, mathematics, information technology, data science or similar, or equivalent career experience.
