Noble Supply & Logistics Supplier Development Manager in Boston, Massachusetts

This position is hybrid requiring three days a week in office

The Supplier Development Manager will lead identification of growth opportunities within one of the 6 market categories, including identification and onboarding of new supplier partners, identifying individual supplier growth and development opportunities, maintaining visibility to new innovations and offerings within existing Strategic Supplier base for visibility to BU Sales leaders and customers, and recommending new suppliers to incorporate into the channel market strategy. The Supplier Development Manager will work closely with the Channel Manager for the same category, as well as Sales Leadership to determine best suppliers to strategically onboard.

The candidate will take a proactive approach in reviewing current systems and procedures, making recommendations, and implementing changes that will improve the efficiencies within the department and increase overall profit. The role is key to leading the company forward in securing relationships with quality suppliers of materials and components covering contractual, price, delivery, and quality targets. Additionally, to obtain competitive advantages with pricing, terms and conditions.

Essential Functions Statements

  • Main POC for non-core partners that have been identified as needing additional strategic initiative growth plans, or that are deemed transactional to the business.

  • Communicate & educate sales on where they should be focusing to maximize revenue & profitability through a regular cadence of communication and participation on category teams.

  • Schedule and identify vendor training for potential new partners to keep sales up to date on cutting edge technology and products.

  • Maintain key Vendor Directory for select portion of suppliers in a category, information in pertinent company systems (i.e. Salesforce), and relay competitive advantage information to internal Sales Teams within systems. Information should include DORs, price lists and validity dates, sales territory information, Points of Contact, product information, competitive data, etc.

  • Responsible for maintaining a knowledge of product/capability offerings, as well as contract or sales opportunities with up and coming new vendor partners.

  • Grow and support partnerships with potential strategic partners within designated market.

  • Collaborate with the channel market manager and potential strategic partners on Pipeline/Forecast, target accounts/markets, new products, and strategic growth to align with overall strategy.

  • Work together to identify opportunities for growth per category.

  • Represent Noble in a professional manner through facilitation and attendance of vendor training, meetings, workshops, and tradeshows.

  • Review areas of growth in sales and margin for the sales team with strategic vendors/markets. Externally advocate for Noble to vendors/industry with regard to product access, special pricing, territory access etc.

  • Evaluate potential strategic partners and their success with all sales verticals. Present an opportunity for new vendors to vertical directors for input and communicate with the sales team to ensure their product capabilities are covered.

  • Coordinate and strategize with sales on emerging strategic partners to schedule demonstrations with including virtual (i.e. Crowdcast).

  • Liaise with Purchasing, Operations, Sales, Training and Service to provide feedback and data to emerging strategic partners or transactional partners when needed. Support discussions as needed if a transactional or emerging strategic vendor partner is not meeting desired metrics.

  • Perform Supply Market Analysis using a designated template for the target market.

  • Responsible for strategically supporting sales negotiations or vendor discussions with emerging or transactional suppliers.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Select the appropriate combination of education, experience and training required to perform the essential elements of the job effectively under normal supervision:

  • Bachelor's Degree preferred or equivalent experience

  • 2+ years of sales and/or business development experience with a track record of capture and program management within assigned market and region

  • 2+ years of experience with US Government contracting and acquisition prior military experience is a plus.

  • Exceptional understanding of government customers, operations, and requirements coupled with a of key industry supplier relationships.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

  • Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance

  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common Nobleactions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

REASONING ABILITY

  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
