The EY-Parthenon sub-service line comprises three competencies: Strategy; Transaction Strategy and Execution; and Turnaround and Restructuring Strategy. EY-Parthenon – Transaction Strategy and Execution has a market-leading proposition to create and maximize value for our clients, whether they are acquiring or divesting assets, or undertaking operational restructuring.

The opportunity

The EY-Parthenon analytics practice specializes in solving business problems by leveraging data science and utilizing a broad range of data sets and analytical capabilities. You will be expected to quickly learn the clients’ business objectives and lead the quantitative analysis to support key strategic decisions. This requires both a strong understanding of business strategy as well as a deep technical knowledge of data modeling, big data platforms, and statistical analysis and visualization tools. You will play a role in the growth of analytics practice through project execution, client development, and intellectual property & product development. The ideal candidate will have both deep technical expertise in data and analytics as well as business functional knowledge of the sales, marketing, and/or pricing domains. Your key responsibilities

As a Director in Commercial Analytics you are responsible for leading workstreams and engagements, translating client needs into project tasks and deliverables, managing day-to-day problem-solving and analytical activities, and serving as the key liaison between the consulting team members and our clients. Our teams work on a variety of client issues including developing long-term strategies for organizations, Within the EY-Parthenon team, director responsibilities include:

  • Developing work plans, designing and conducting analyses, synthesizing conclusions, and managing other project team members

  • Performing analytical research using a variety of data sources and modeling techniques iteratively incorporating client feedback and communicating the methodology and results to drive business impact

  • Executing various analyses (e.g., customer segmentation, market sizing, marketing lift, pricing optimization, economic forecasting, network optimization, clustering and regression analysis, geospatial modeling) to support the strategic recommendations

  • Understanding and enriching client and industry market data to directly support our client engagement teams in performing detailed analysis

  • Developing, reviewing, and communicating business plans and financial models to size opportunities and identify key assumptions and drivers

  • Supporting engagement financial activities, including budget management and project tracking

  • Supporting practice growth including business development, resourcing, recruiting, training, and mentoring team members

Skills and attributes for success

  • Experience in managing and/or supervising a team of analytics professionals through all phases of the engagement lifecycle, including requirements definition, design, development, testing and post-delivery support.

  • Demonstrate high levels of technical and professional knowledge and quickly assimilate new knowledge.

  • Demonstrate quality project execution and delivery by successfully monitoring project/program team economics, performance against the job arrangement and budget.

  • The ability to team and collaborate for the purposes of effectively designing and implementing engagement objectives, strategies and solutions that addresses client needs.

  • The ability to manage engagements in a rigorous, time sensitive environment while deliver high-quality solutions through the management of cross functional teams and remote resources.

  • The ability to foster an innovative and team-oriented work environment committed to developing knowledge, continuing to learn and share knowledge with clients and team members alike.

  • Excellent industry knowledge staying abreast of current business and industry developments relevant to the client's business, and act as a leader in adopting new tools and techniques.

  • The ability to use current technology and tools to enhance the effectiveness of services provided.

To qualify for the role, you must have

  • 5 + years of related professional experience, and a bachelors or masters degree from a leading

  • business school with outstanding academic performance, including relevant coursework (e.g.

  • quantitative courses in data science, finance, business, and economics)

  • A record of achievement with previous employer(s) with increasing responsibility and oversight

  • The ability to conduct detailed analysis on pricing, products, markets, customers, and locations to

  • identify and size business opportunities, and deliver customer insights

  • A strong aptitude for quantitative analysis including data manipulation, cleaning, and visualization

  • The ability to connect complex business situations to data requirements, analysis techniques, and data visualizations to formulate potential solutions for our clients

  • The ability and the confidence to establish meaningful relationships with clients and colleagues

  • Unwavering integrity, work ethic and flexibility to quickly adapt to new environments/clients

  • Mastery of analytical tools and languages including Python, R, SQL, Alteryx, Tableau, PowerBI

  • Proficiency with MS Office, including MS Excel, MS PowerPoint and MS Word

  • Willingness to travel and flexibility to work in excess of standard hours when necessary

  • Proficient in the English language, including the ability to listen, understand, read and communicate effectively, both in writing and verbally, in a professional environment

  • Willing and able to learn and work independently with minimal supervision

  • Effective organization and time management skills, with the ability to work under pressure and adhere to project deadlines

Ideally you’ll also have

  • Experience gained within another consulting services organization.

  • Established networking skills in a relevant industry.
