Clover Food Lab Store Communications Lead in Boston, Massachusetts

At Clover, we rely on our Store Communications Lead (SCL) to bring the best example for the front of house staff. As a leader on the restaurant team, the SCL will be responsible for creating a fun, food focused, customer service driven atmosphere that is unique to each location but also embodies the Clover vision. The ideal candidate will excel at working in a fast-paced restaurant environment and will be responsible for providing a premier experience to customers, building a sense of community within their restaurant, and collecting feedback from customers that will help Clover become a better place. At the core of this role is a deep understanding of the Clover brand and mission. It is about connecting with our customers, leading by example and being genuinely into food and where it comes from.

Our team of SCLs work full-time at a single Clover restaurant, reporting to the manager of the location in which they work. They work with the Marketing Department and Events on projects relating to brand, customer experience, and design. We’ll ask you to let the creativity flow and we’ll work with you to bring these ideas to life!

The ideal candidate is a huge fan of Clover, loves food and sharing it with others, has excellent verbal and written communications skills, and is a team-player with a strong work-ethic. Previous customer-facing experience is required, and experience in communications/marketing is a plus.

Many past SCLs at Clover have gone on to become Creative Directors, Vice Presidents, and General Managers at Clover!

Duties

Store Communications Leads are required to…

  • Engage one-on-one with customers through order-taking at their home location

  • Lead a team of order-takers through two meals per day (eg. Breakfast/Lunch or Lunch/Dinner)

  • Develop employees’ engagement with Clover’s food, brand, and mission via Clover storytelling and training

  • Work with their manager to build sales and improve customer experience

  • Craft responses to customer feedback and reviews from Yelp, Google, email, and various other platforms giving

  • Maintain retail inventory, tracking sales, and assisting in merchandising of our in-store displays where we sell books, packaged foods, cooking equipment, coffee and more

  • Align restaurant staff with Clover’s communications goals to execute weekly, monthly, and yearly communications campaigns - an example this past November was all about brussel sprouts!

  • Promote events (cooking classes, beer launches, farm visits) through word of mouth, signage

  • Attend brand classes with Clover’s Communications team

Requirements

Store Communications Leads must have…

  • 1+ years experience in a customer-facing role at Clover or other

  • Excellent written and oral communications skills

  • A basic understanding of Clover and its culinary standing within the Boston area

  • A passion for food and a willingness to work hard

  • A basic understanding of the Clover brand, aesthetics, and friendly customer service skills (voice, tone, etc.)

  • The ability to thrive in a self-directed, fast-paced, forward-thinking environment

  • The ability to stand for prolonged periods of time, and repeated walking, bending, stretching, and occasional lifting (up to 50lbs), with or without reasonable accommodation

  • Able to work a varied schedule that includes nights and weekends
