SCHEDULE: 40 hours, Monday - Friday, 830AM-5PM
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Reporting to the Senior Director of Campaign and Individual Giving, the Donor Engagement and Stewardship Manager (DESM) will work closely with development staff (particularly the Campaign and Major and Planned Giving teams), volunteers, and other key stakeholders. The DESM will plan and implement activities to further the engagement and stewardship of campaign, major gift, and planned gift prospects and donors. The DESM will also manage a small portfolio of permanent stewardship donors and meet with donors each year, in conjunction with Major Gift Officers, to thank them for their support and cultivate continued engagement.
REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor-s degree
Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in fundraising preferably in a non-profit setting and in stewardship/donor relations
Excellent writing skills
Highly organized
Ability to multi-task and set priorities
Ability to sit for long periods of time
Ability to utilize a PC, phone, and copier
Ability to climb four flights of stairs
Ability to travel by car or public transportation in metropolitan Boston area for PSI site visits, special events, and other meetings or trainings as assigned
Some travel, weekend, holiday and after-hours work may be required
PREFERRED:
- Strong technical skills, especially Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Power Point), and experience with databases, Raisers Edge helpful
Essential Functions Include But Are Not Limited To:
Design and implementation of recognition strategies (plaques, events, reports, etc.) with a focus on campaign in the first two years
Works in cooperation and consultation with gift officers to develop and implement customized and strategic stewardship plans for campaign and other major donors
Identifies and implements opportunities for connecting donors with the programmatic work of Pine Street
Develops engagement and recognition event ideas for major gift donors and supports the implementation of annual activities lead by or for major gift donors
Collaborates with gift officers on the preparation of gift proposals and reports and other written materials and mailings
Works with gift officers on high-level, personalized gift acknowledgments and tracks acknowledgments to completion
Creates and maintains a menu of donor engagement initiatives that support priority fundraising objectives
Conducts basic research on major gift donors and prospects
Assists with preparation of meetings
Stays apprised of priority fundraising initiatives, key solicitations, and gifts to be closed
Identifies donors to be highlighted for development communications
Creates and maintains policies and procedures related to stewardship and donor relations
Conducts periodic review of the stewardship and donor engagement programs for effectiveness
Manages a small portfolio of permanent stewardship prospects and meets with donors each year, in conjunction with gift officers
OPERATIONS:
Creates and maintains annual cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship calendar (reporting schedule, renewals, annual activities)
Assists with tracking cultivation and stewardship activity in Raiser-s Edge
Manages plaque recognition process from start to finish, including work with signage vendor, engineering, prospect manager
Working with Operations team, tracks remittance of pledges and pledge reminders
Tracking of naming opportunities inventory
Other duties as assigned in order to meet the needs of the organization during the COVID-19 pandemic or other public health or weather emergency.
