Job Information
Ford Motor Company SRE Technical Product Manager in Boston, Massachusetts
We are seeking a talented and experienced Engineering Product Manager to join our team and lead the development, enhancement, and extension of our observability platform. This individual will play a pivotal role in shaping product roadmaps, collaborating with cross-functional teams, defining strategy and where we go, and driving the delivery of innovative features to meet the evolving needs of our customers.
This team is responsible for transforming our monitoring practices from traditional application and infrastructure monitoring to comprehensive full-stack observability solutions. As a Product Manager, you will be part of helping us define and shape the narrative of where we go, how fast we can get there, and ensure everyone understands where we are on the journey, what’s expected of them, and what good will look like for them when we get there. You will play a critical role in shaping the future of our observability initiatives and strategies. Utilizing your expertise in software engineering, data management, data streaming, and visualization, you will help us ensure we accelerate at a sustainable clip and progressively improve starting from day one.
As a Product Manager you will not directly lead people, but you will play a crucial part in creating clarity for our teams to execute. The ideal candidate understands that speaking is the least effective way to be heard, plans exceptionally well, thinks about outcomes as a matter of habit and then figures out how we get there, and has experience balancing all these at scale. However, above all the ideal candidate knows how to dream and is well versed in helping people plan from a dream to a reality.
Product Strategy: Define and communicate a clear product vision and strategy for the products within the observability platform, considering market trends, customer feedback, and business goals
Roadmap Planning: Collaborate with engineering, design, and other relevant teams to create and maintain a comprehensive product roadmap that aligns with business objectives
Feature Development: Lead the ideation, prioritization, and development of enhancements, extensions, and new logic for the observability platform, ensuring they address customer pain points and improve user experience
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with engineering, design, quality assurance, marketing, and sales teams to ensure successful execution of the product roadmap
User-Centric Design: Champion a user-centric approach by gathering customer feedback, conducting user research, and translating insights into actionable product improvements
Market Analysis: Stay current with industry trends, competitor offerings, and emerging technologies related to observability and monitoring, and leverage this knowledge to inform product decisions
Release Management: Coordinate and manage product releases, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality features and enhancements
Metrics and Analytics: Define and monitor key performance metrics to assess the success of product initiatives and make data-driven decisions
Customer Engagement: Engage with customers to understand their needs, gather feedback, and build strong relationships that drive ongoing product improvement.

Strong background in Observability tools and practices, including experience with Dynatrace, Splunk, ELK, Grafana and data ingestion technologies
Proven track record of building and managing successful engineering teams
Excellent project management skills with a track record of delivering projects on time and within scope
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and communicate with stakeholders
Analytical mindset and data-driven decision-making approach
Prior experience with Agile methodologies and product management tools
