The Global Communications Team leads the storytelling function at VMware. We are a team of approximately 75 communications professionals spanning public relations, industry analyst relations, integrated storytelling, and executive and employee communications. If you are passionate about delivering best in class communications strategically and flawlessly to our audiences (employees and externally) via the right channel, tool, and technology, this might be a role for you. In this position, you will contribute to the success of our communications strategies by managing and supporting a diverse set of digital channels for the Global Communications organization. This person will be part of a global, multi-cultural and diverse team leading the roadmap and operations for our key channels including our email communications platform, digital signage, CommsTech initiatives and emerging technologies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Own our email communications platform and lead the roadmap, governance, administration and change management aspects of the tool in partnership with the vendor and IT

  • Manage VMware’s global digital signage network in partnership with IT and our Workplace organizations to drive effective in-office news and information

  • Lead the news personalization strategy across various internal communications channels including the intranet, email and social collaboration technologies

  • Play a key role in redesign efforts to build an integrated digital workplace experience for employees

  • Evaluate emerging digital communications trends and provide thought leadership and perspective for adoption, where appropriate

  • Define, map and manage our communications channels to ensure we drive a seamless and programmatic approach in delivering content to the right audience at the right time

  • Address any process inefficiencies in our cross-communication channels and ways to improve operational workflows

  • Leverage data, insights and feedback to optimize and drive meaningful change to our channel strategy and audience engagement

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Outstanding verbal, written, project management and people management skills

  • Minimum 6 years of working experience, designing, and implementing innovative programs within a global organization

  • Self-starter and able to work successfully across complex matrix of stakeholders

  • Ability to navigate and influence across the business and effectively lead a large, diverse group of stakeholders through project conception, business requirements, process mapping and implementation to gather their input and drive alignment – while keeping the final deliverable on track

  • Demonstrated problem solving and creative skills, and the ability to exercise sound judgment

  • Savvy with social media and new consumer trends and technologies

  • Proven ability to think strategically and drive execution across multiple communication disciplines and channels

  • Ability to manage numerous projects simultaneously and drive them to successful completion and results

  • Experience in the software/enterprise IT infrastructure segment preferred

  • Knowledge of e-mail marketing systems, content management platforms and has basic HTML skills
