We are looking for an individual who is eager to join a successful team focused on enabling and engaging our customers in the biotech segment. This Sr Marketing Manager, Biotech will join the expanding Biosciences Division's (BID) Integrated Marketing Programs team. This dynamic individual will be responsible for leading and executing against critical go-to market strategies to drive growth in our division. Their charter will be to develop and manage multi-channel marketing campaigns and programs that integrate tools & products from across the company to tell a customer-centric holistic story and generate awareness and demand for relevant Thermo Fisher Scientific solutions.
As an influential individual contributor, the appointed Sr Marketing Manager will use their comprehensive marketing experience, technical knowledge and customer-centricity to lead a cross-functional team from diverse backgrounds towards shared goals and results. This collaborative individual will need to work effectively across multiple marketing, sales and operations functions, leading and influencing without direct authority.
The successful individual will enjoy working with intensity; have exceptional organization and communication skills with a strong and diverse marketing skill set with an emphasis on digital marketing strategy. A scientific education would be beneficial with a background in cell, protein or molecular biology a plus, combined with solid business acumen to achieve goals on time.
Their ability to prioritize and manage multiple parallel projects and work comfortably in a highly matrixed environment will allow them to demonstrate that they are a keen team player while being able to complete projects independently that make a positive impact on the business and customers.
What will you do?
Lead and influence without authority a dynamic cross-functional project teams to complete tasks on time and within budget
Oversee the development of high priority go-to-market strategies and create and drive execution of supporting tactical marketing plans for target customer segments that incorporate products across BID and sister divisions
Lead the creation of marketing content across multiple on and off-line channels
Utilize analytical tools and revenue reporting data to make sound marketing decisions to meet or exceed financial and marketing performance objectives
Oversee the development of sales and marketing training material to excite and activate commercial teams to be successful in target segments
Ensure we are presenting application workflows and accompanying content to demonstrate end-to-end solutions for specific research applications and support buyer journeys
Communicate with varying levels of leadership to report on progress and areas of opportunity for extended teams
Budget management and optimization
May perform other related duties as required and/or assigned
Identifies problems, answers questions, gain cooperation of others and implement efficient solutions.
Exceptional project management skills, attention to detail, strong time management skills and deadline driven
Fast and self-starter learner, with ability to work in a dynamic team adapting quickly to a changing environment
Strong understanding and experience with digital media and how they influence customer behavior
Analytical and able to make justifiable data-driven decisions to drive growth, maintain a designated budget and provide metrics to ensure strong return on investment
Ability to lead and provide functional area guidance and expertise to the broader team.
Provide regularly oral and written communication of marketing program performance, including metrics, learning's, best practices etc. to improve the overall operating efficiency of the team.
Must be open to new processes, piloting new ways of working and ability to pivot quickly when required.
Must have an enthusiastic attitude and leadership presence.
How will you get there?
- Bachelor's degree in a life science subject and an advanced degree such as MBA is a bonus
Min. 8+ years marketing/ related industry experience with a minimum of 4 years successfully and independently developing and implementing marketing and campaign strategies and plans
Experience in life sciences, biotech or related field required
Demonstrated knowledge and experience of digital marketing channel mix optimization including programmatic display, social media and email automation paths.
Clear success in collaborating easily and effectively to lead and influence diverse teams.
Exceptional communication, organization, analytical, digital, project management and planning skills
Knowledge of the following key competencies: 4Ps and marketing mix, marketing communication, segmentation, value proposition and marketing program development and execution
Strong business acumen, positive attitude, team player with strong customer focus
Experience in a commercial role, such as sales or field marketing or support, a plus
Experience in working within Agile marketing methodology or principles, a bonus
Ability to travel up to 15%.
