Overview

The Senior Manager, Events & Sponsorships supports the business strategy for the Evernorth Growth Office through the activation of market engagement events. The Senior Manager will be responsible for executing strategic market engagement initiatives across the Evernorth Growth Office, such as external conferences, sponsorship activations, and client-facing events. Works closely with stakeholders across the enterprise in support of strategic business goals to foster key growth goals. This Senior Manager will lead initiatives, track & measure progress against goals and budgets, and assess results, while delivering customer-centric outcomes and business results.

Role Summary

Supports the end- to- end delivery of complex initiatives impacting the Evernorth Growth Office, sales distribution teams, and the client/broker experience including intimate, white glove events and larger scale, high-profile market engagement opportunities. Partners with key business stakeholders to ensure comprehensive, strategic alignment within each individual engagement opportunity, as well as within the context of the larger engagement roadmap. Working closely with stakeholders across matrix departments, this Senior Manager will manage priorities, a commitment to equity and inclusion in market engagements, customer-centric delivery and results, measuring progress, to support growth and retention. This role will lead teammates working to execute of engagement initiatives.

Job Responsibilities

  • Act as Senior Manager Market Engagement SME in partnership with Management Team, to engage business stakeholders to identify, communicate and resolve needs as appropriate.

  • Facilitate end to end operational review of Evernorth Growth Office market engagement process improvement initiatives.

  • Build and manage project plans to ensure projects are completed within committed time, including problem solving related to identifying and mitigating risk. Partner across business units to engage stakeholders, leverage insights, and manage operational complexities.

  • Lead high priority projects and programs focused on efficiency, consistency, and segment growth.

  • Partner with peer leaders to ensure market engagement plans align seamlessly with enterprise functions such as training, prospecting, sales coaching, messaging to create a highly effective feedback loop.

  • Maintain/deliver high level project status reports and communicate risks, delays, and mitigation strategies to Lead Team.

  • Coach and coordinate staff to effectively collaborate with business partners to drive results in a strategic, data-driven manner.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant work experience and 5 or more years work experience in the insurance industry, preferred.

  • Experience within Sales/Sales Operations, Marketing, or a client-facing capacity.

  • Demonstrated experience delivering complex projects on time.

  • Exemplary Project Management skills including scope management, issue/risk mitigation and dependency management.

  • Excellent strategic thinking, planning and implementation skills, including creating strategies to move projects and the organization forward, setting effective goals, implementing action plans, and evaluating process and results.

  • Proven problem-solving skills, including the ability to realistically assess situations, gather relevant information, identify causes, and make recommendations for solutions

  • Works well on a team with good interpersonal skills. Demonstrates ability to work in a highly matrixed and rapidly changing environment.

  • Detail oriented and highly organized with the ability to manage larger projects with minimal oversight.

  • Skilled at organizing and communicating information and data in multiple platforms to meet the needs of various audiences, reporting, and presentation environments.

  • Proven ability to conceptualize and drive a data-driven approach to strategic needs.

  • Persuasive, collaborative business acumen with the ability to drive the business strategically and influence others.

  • Strong verbal, written communication skills and presentation skills.

  • Supervisory experience with a track record of culture building and professional development priorities.
