Sr. Export Sales Account Manager – North America

CCG – RSD Global Export

US Remote / Pittsburgh or Atlanta regions

As a Sr. Export Sales Account Manager - North America you will develop and implement a strategy to grow sales with customers in all market segments engaged in the direct or indirect export of products and services outside North America. This will be achieved through proactive account management of existing customers, driving business development activities with new customers, partnering with suppliers, and supporting the management of our channel partners to grow the business. In addition to having general responsibility for growing and achieving all sales and profitability targets for the region, you will also interact with customers, suppliers and internal partners across relevant functions to ensure effective penetration of the Global Health segment, aligning the RSD Global Export go-to-market strategy with the broader Thermo Fisher Global Health Equity strategy.

What will you do?

  • Develop a growth strategy for the North America Global Export business and successfully implement strategic and tactical sales plans to ensure revenue and gross margin objectives are achieved

  • Interact with direct and indirect (channel/reseller) customers at Executive, Procurement and End User level

  • Host regular business reviews with customers, assessing performance against Key Performance Indicators.

  • Collaborate with Inside and Regional Sales teams to increase opportunities with existing customers as well as Program (Enterprise) and Key Accounts

  • Work closely with the Global Health Equity team to realize the full potential of this segment

  • Develop and share in-depth knowledge of competitor activity.

  • Respect guidelines on personal administration including, but not limited to, maintenance of the company CRM system (

How will you get here?


  • A bachelor's degree preferably in Business or the Sciences


  • Strong commercial background and record of sales success, negotiating at local and global level is required

  • Demonstrated ability to influence change within an i nternational, matrixed organization

  • Experience selling to customers in Academia, Pharma, Biotech, Industry, Government and NGO/ Humanitarian Aid segments is preferred

  • Understanding of export documentation as well as practical experience of Global Trade Compliance regulations is desirable

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • Excellent interpersonal, customer orientation and problem-solving skills and a can-do approach are required.

  • Ability to deliver a comprehensive value proposition to meet customer needs

  • Strong work ethic and flexible working hours as the role interacts with customers and colleagues across multiple time zones.

  • Proficiency with Word, Excel and PowerPoint are required; experience of CRM is desirable

  • Ability to travel up to 50% within the region, to co-ordinate with local commercial teams
