The Senior Director for our Agile Portfolio Management Office will drive high-quality, effective program management of Scaled Agile (SAFe) portfolios. This role will report to the Vice President of Strategic Corporate Portfolio and Agile Transformation and will work closely with the ET Portfolio Directors and Release train leads to monitor and drive effective execution, eliminate barriers, and enable our teams to deliver on their commitments. This newly created position will be pivotal in driving change and reimagining how we operate within and across functions to deliver key enterprise initiatives. The undertaking to shift to a product and platform model, enabling the end to end process from ideation through delivery with defined OKRs. The Agile portfolio transformation Sr. Director will oversee required changes in the operating model.
The Senior Director will be a key cross-functional collaborator interfacing with Enterprise Technology partners, Corporate Strategy, Operations, Marketing, CX & Digital and Product Owners to create value within and across these functions and incrementally transform the corporate portfolio and processes.
With a successful End to end portfolio execution, a focused blend of business process management, change management, strategy and operational experience, this leader will guide the business and Enterprise technology through transformational change that includes developing actionable plans to transform the corporate portfolio to refine and optimize the end to end workflow striving for process excellence.
Plan Shift from Project to Product-aligned organizational structure and execution
Champion enterprise strategy execution and adoption of OKRs to accelerate time to customer value
Mobilize Program Increment (PI) Planning
Support Multi-year Product Roadmap planning
Mature enterprise alignment and Intake processes
Strategy Formulation and Translation Support
Refine portfolio governance structure to ensure successful portfolio execution, including preparation for and facilitation of weekly progress reviews, quarterly program increment (PI) planning sessions and other program-level ceremonies (scrum of trains, program demos)
Own & manage communication to ensure all portfolio participants have latest information & clear action plans
Select, design, and interpret agile work management reports from CA Agile Central to drive meaningful discussion on current performance and areas of improvement
Work across departments and other portfolios to break down barriers in effort to enable teams to reach their goals; includes risk and change management processes. Partner to help facilitate resolution of cross-program dependencies
Ensure program makes best use of, and stays within, its budget while delivering high-quality results, through partnership with Finance.
Prepare executive updates on overall portfolio progress, risks, and next steps
Identify and pursue opportunities to fine-tune and improve program execution
Lead and or collaborate with a team of directors, senior managers, and process engineers who partner with cross functional leadership on process improvement, transformational change.
Collaborate with enterprise cross functional leaders in prioritization of initiatives as well as the development of an overall portfolio strategic roadmap that supports the CX/Digital, Medicare, and provider and Operational roadmaps.
Demonstrate exceptional stakeholder skills, communicating to generate support for recommendations among business leaders across the organization
Identify and mitigate conflicting departmental goals and influence change to performance objectives to align with business process improvements
Work with limited direction, usually within a complex and often ambiguous environment
10+ years total experience with proven success at a director or above level managing a complex portfolio
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience. MBA highly desired, or advanced university degree
Experience leading high engagement, cross-functional strategy execution
Excellent verbal and written communication (story telling) skills
Effective interaction with senior executives and experience creating presentations and presenting to all levels of an organization and presentation skills; Advanced MS Office skills
Master Black Belt, Project Management, Lean and/or Six Sigma, and/or Change Management Certifications highly desired
10 years of program management experience with proven Agile and facilitation skills;
Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) certification desired
Significant experience developing, implementing, and tracking metrics, data analysis and reporting at the organizational level
Demonstrated ability to drive cross-functional teams to meet business objectives and influence co-workers while fostering strong working relationships
Expert facilitation skills
Ability to navigate through ambiguity, set direction, and influence those not under direct line of management
SCRUM Master experience required
Healthcare experience preferred.
