The Senior Director of Digital Strategy is a critical, newly created role with a mission to drive engagement and a seamless experience across our digital channels and campaigns. We are seeking a leading-edge strategist who has successfully led a digital transformation and who can unify the vision for the full range of our digital channels.

This position can sit in any of our US offices.

The Marketing department is a highly collaborative team of professionals who work closely with practice groups and sectors to build the reputation of DLA Piper and our lawyers. The team works with firm leaders to create and execute the strategy that addresses DLA Piper’s business goals. We also measure business efforts to identify the most strategic focus for our lawyers’ efforts.

Minimum Requirements:

  • 12 years of experience in leadership roles responsible for managing teams, creating and implementing integrated digital strategies to drive awareness, favorability, and engagement

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications or similar field

  • Proven strategic thinker with a vast knowledge of digital marketing to lead and drive the strategy, development, and execution of all digital marketing plans and emerging media initiatives

  • Experience successfully leading a digital transformation

  • Experience with branding, website redesign, reputation management projects, as well as SEO, SEM and SMO strategies

  • Strong technical acumen with a knowledge of best in class marketing technology platforms and tools

  • Advanced knowledge of online analytics programs

What will your day look like?

The Sr. Director of Digital Strategy is responsible for developing a sophisticated and measurable digital strategy to communicate the firm’s expertise and differentiators to key audiences. You will continually review and act on the firm’s strategic vision, develop and lead multi-channel strategy across the marketing technology stack, understand audience segmentation, campaign management, and business development and trends in online strategies to support the overall direction of the firm. You will also work with our industry-leading IT team to lead the development of a modernized website that will be the center of our digital ecosystem.

Responsibilities include:

  • Develop a marketing technology roadmap and stack and a robust, innovative digital strategy that emphasizes the firm’s expertise and sets us apart from our competitors

  • Provide strategic direction to both the Marketing and IT teams to implement a variety of marketing technologies. Interface with CITO, COO, CMO, Chairman, and Management Committee and collaborate with our International team on global strategy and technology implementation

  • Lead firm-wide corporate website redesign including technology platform, architecture, and content to enable dynamic, personalized user experiences and robust analytics

  • Develop journey maps, personas, and conduct focus groups to define business requirements and leverage data-driven insights to develop campaigns across channels that improve lifetime client satisfaction and guide prospective clients in identifying and investigating solutions

  • Manage technologies and processes relating to the marketing funnel including lead generation, qualification, and nurturing

  • Act as a senior strategic planner for all digital campaigns that leverage all relevant interactive channels and automated marketing tools (i.e., social media, website, blogs, email, search, and CRM). Oversees team throughout all phases of project development and delivery

  • Define key performance indicators and implement measurement, analytics, and reporting methods to ensure success. Provide key data and analysis of digital activities to all relevant teams and senior firm leadership
