Your Mission:

The Senior Director, Alliances will generate, manage, and execute strategic partnerships across Medidata, and work on Medidata-related mergers and acquisitions with the Dassault Systemes Corporate Development team. You will research and generate ideas, create strategic recommendations, prioritize objectives, plan internal activities, drive diligence and contract negotiations, and support alliance management by collaborating with other functions.. To be successful, you will have deep knowledge of the clinical development and related market and technology landscapes.

The successful team member will:

  • Partner with Senior Leadership, Product, Technology, Legal, and other teams to assess alliance and other expansion opportunities that support Medidata’s strategic priorities

  • Own alliance execution, including identifying and prioritizing targets, driving strategic and financial analysis, creating business cases, designing partnership structure, and negotiations

  • Coordinate internal resources around alliance relationship management and operational planning to drive alliance execution and growth

  • Collaborate with both Medidata functions and the Dassault Systemes’ Corporate Development team for mergers and acquisitions.

Your Competencies:

  • An entrepreneurial drive and passion to leverage informatics and analytics technologies to help improve the discovery and development of medicines that lead to improved patient outcomes

  • Strong understanding of clinical development, analytics, and related technologies

  • Collaborative, analytic, strategic thinker who easily links strategic business decisions and operational implications

  • A successful track record of identifying and negotiating life sciences R&D alliances and commercial agreements

  • Ability to build internal and external relationships across a variety of functional areas

  • Demonstrated project management skills and success in delivering complex, cross-functional projects

  • Willingness to travel

Your Education & Experience:

  • 7+ years of successful experience in an externally facing role in the life sciences industry, preferably supporting drug discovery, clinical development, analytics, or informatics

  • Prior experience in relevant equity research or corporate / strategic development a plus

  • Bachelor’s degree required, graduate degree preferred
