Reporting to the VP of the AEC Design Platform team, the successful candidate is an accountable, data-driven, hands-on problem-solver who leads with a positive attitude and empathy. As the Sr. Director of AEC Design Platform Data, you will set the vision and strategy for Autodesk’s AEC Design data strategy, which includes Cloud Information Modeling, Machine Learning, and connecting our products to customer data wherever it may reside. You will work closely with senior leaders within the AEC Design division as well as leaders in the Autodesk Forge data team, as well as with stakeholders in Sales, Marketing and Customer Success to help them deliver a world-class customer experience. You will work in a fast-paced, cross-functional cross-divisional and highly collaborative environment alongside forward-thinking colleagues who are equally excited and passionate about the value that modern data can bring to the business and to our customers.

Responsibilities

  • Drive the AEC Design Platform Data vision, strategy, and roadmap aligned to user needs and overall business priorities and objectives

  • Partner with product owners, platform teams, and data compliance/governance to ensure that data related business requirements are clearly defined, communicated and well understood as part of operational prioritization and planning

  • Define a data governance strategy focused on ensuring data is collected, stored, enriched and maintained in accordance with industry standard SLAs and SLOs

  • Facilitate the development and implementation of data quality standards, data protection standards and adoption requirements across the enterprise

  • Review existing systems in relation to future needs and benefits and recommend improvements to meet Autodesk’s platform data goals

  • Manage and control costs associated with collecting, managing and sharing data while growing the value of the data to the organization

  • Coordinate external data sources, formats, SDKs and standards to eliminate redundancy and streamline the expense related to those services

  • Exhibit strong relationship management skills to work with users and stakeholders across the company to deeply understand their problems and needs

  • Facilitate communication with product teams and stakeholders ensuring they are informed about roadmap progress and what they can expect from the AEC Design Platform Data team

  • Define indicators of performance and quality metrics and ensure compliance with data related policies, standards, roles and responsibilities, and adoption requirements

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or related field

  • 7+ years of management experience, prior experience with Data Management preferred

  • Proven ability to champion an idea and bring a group to consensus

  • At least 7 years of experience in a Technology Leadership position

  • Experience defining product vision and strategy, identifying user personas and use cases, and documenting requirements and specifications

  • Able to communicate and work effectively with engineering teams

  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, agile and collaborative cross-functional environment

  • Able to influence decision-making at all levels

  • Good communicator and storyteller, able to explain technical topics to a non-technical audience
