In this role, the Senior Communications Consultant will partner with Corporate Communications colleagues and senior business managers to develop, review and deliver the Bank's internal communication strategies and key messages based on understanding the Retail Network (branch) and Customer Service Center’s business and objectives. This professional will provide ongoing support and communication guidance to company leadership to ensure consistency and alignment with established organizational principles and business objectives in a fast-paced environment. S/he will create, manage and implement key business line communications plans, crisis communications programs and stakeholder communications. The ideal candidate will thrive on elevating communications that can speak to a wide variety of colleagues and interlock key messages with both the business lines’ goals and our corporate purpose, values, behaviors and brand value proposition.

Responsibility Statements

  • Produces supporting communication materials, including key messages.

  • Assists with creating and maintaining the editorial calendar to align with Consumer and Business Banking’s (CBB) business needs while adhering to Capacity Management requirements.

  • Provides editorial support for the ongoing management of the CBB intranet and new web initiatives, including content development, design, navigation and usability support.

  • Identifies newsworthy topics and writes articles appropriate for the corporate intranet site(s).

  • Participates on teams to plan, develop, and implement initiatives.

  • Ensures that the communication strategy is successfully implemented across multiple channels, such as web, print, video, face-to-face, events and two-way communication.

  • Works with contractors, consultants, design firms, and production houses to finalize media that cannot be produced in-house.

  • Conducts research, writes, edits and proofreads materials and collateral, ensures clarity, accuracy and timeliness of information that meet strategic and operational objectives.

  • Oversees design and publication/distribution.

  • Updates existing materials to make use of current technological resources.

  • Monitors and evaluates results of communications programs, using specific metrics to track progress and insights for continuous improvement.

  • Acts as a subject matter expert (SME) while providing leadership, guidance, and mentorship to other team members.



  • Bachelor's Degree in communications, marketing, public relations, journalism, or related field

  • 9-12 years’ experience with copywriting and editing, preferably within financial services required

  • Experience developing content for digital channels

  • Experience with WordPress, Photoshop, and video editing is preferred.

  • Demonstrated ability to apply a wide variety of communication techniques to deliver constructive feedback to subordinates, peers and management

  • Ability to create effective messaging for specific audiences, and consolidate contributions and feedback from multiple sources

  • Collaborative approach to working with colleagues and strong interpersonal skills

  • Demonstrated ability to allow objective judgment and discretion as necessary

  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet time line constraints/deadlines

  • Flexibility to manage changing requirements and short timelines

  • Ability to multi-task and possesses excellent prioritization skills

  • Demonstrated ability to apply conflict resolution techniques to successfully overcome differing viewpoints

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, self-motivated, adaptable, and possessing a positive attitude

  • Demonstrated strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills

  • Self-motivated, good organizational and interpersonal skills, and detail-oriented individual who can prioritize tasks and meet tight deadlines

  • Advanced proficiency with MS Office Suite and database applications
