Thermo Fisher Scientific Sr. Account Manager - Software Sales in Boston, Massachusetts
How will you make an impact:
The Senior Sales Account Manager, US North East Territory, is responsible for ensuring profitable growth in the US North East and Canada East territory with a primary focus on the Pharmaceutical and Biotech markets. As a Senior Sales Account Manager, you will be responsible for building strong client relationships within existing accounts, developing account management strategies to create in-market growth opportunities, and coordinating with internal teams to deliver software solutions that meet clients' needs.
In this role, you will own the relationship between the account and Thermo Fisher Scientific, MSD VSG. You will create and execute a sales strategy with a focus on major/strategic accounts and targeted new logos. Further, you will develop and foster relationships at the executive level, ensuring a complete understanding of the clients short, mid, and long-term goals.
What will you do:
Create the overall sales strategy for MSD VSG in the US North East and Canada East territory with a strong focus on major accounts
Develop business opportunities and drive sales execution and closing to meet revenue goals
Manage the interface between the defined accounts and Thermo Fisher Scientific, MSD VSG
Develop relationships at senior and executive levels within existing accounts to advance new growth opportunities in core markets.
Create account leverage across the breadth of the portfolio
Own the business objectives for the MSD VSG strategy in the US North East and Canada East territory including financial objectives and compliance metrics
Define opportunities and initiatives to further the relationship and increase the share of spend with Thermo Fisher Scientific
Conduct regular business updates to key stakeholders within client company and within Thermo Fisher Scientific
How will you get there:
A minimum B.Sc. degree in a scientific discipline: chemistry, biochemistry, or chemical engineering strongly preferred
Minimum of 7 years as an account manager selling software that supports scientific innovation
Skills, Knowledge & Abilities:
Direct experience selling software to senior positions within top Pharmaceutical and Biotech companies
Understanding of chemical laboratory processes and methods and regulations in the Pharmaceutical and Biotech sector
Ability to interface and build trust with Scientists, as well as Director & VP level business and IT leaders
Strong analytical skills including basic financial training
Proven track record of successful capture of increasing business from key accounts in private sector & government sectors
Demonstrated experience managing complex, high-value accounts in a matrix environment
Strong negotiation and communication skills
Ability to communicate confidently and concisely in verbal, written and presentation formats to all types of audiences
