Amazon Software Development Engineer, PXT in Boston, Massachusetts
Description
Interested in working with the latest technology in the cloud computing space to impact millions of people? The Joining Amazon Technology team is building cutting edge solutions to revolutionize the way we onboard 2.8 million Amazon new workers a year in over 60 countries. We do not depend on third party monolithic HR systems. Our software products use Amazon Web Services to intelligently work through the complexity of country and role differences, and ensure new hires start successfully on Day 1 with delightful onboarding experiences. We enable all Amazon business' success to onboard new workers to meet dynamic business and market demands, e.g., over 100,000 new hires in the US and Canada in record speed during the COVID-19 pandemic, and country and region holiday and prime day retail lifecycle spikes. Our mission is clear: We seek to be the most technically proficient HR organization in the world.
We are seeking experienced engineers with strong ownership. You will own and lead projects that impact new Amazonians around the globe. Amazon business’ success depends on your ability to innovate and enable Amazon workforce’s onboarding speed and success. Basic Qualifications
5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
Experience programming with at least one modern language such as Java, C++, or C# including object-oriented design
Bachelor's degree or equivalent
Preferred Qualifications
Experience designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems
Experience building complex software systems that have been successfully delivered to customers

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $129,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $223,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
